What Is Personal Branding And How Do you Do It?

Article Overview: About two years ago, I asked a question. What is personal branding? I was first introduced to the term by my mentor, Michael Force. The first thing that came to my mind was a fire and a poker. Not something I want to do to myself and I don’t think I would let somebody else do it to me either. Now that I have a better understanding of what it is, I want to share with all of you the same things, I came to learn.

What Is Personal Branding And How Do you Do It?

Not something I want to do to myself and I don’t think I would let somebody else do it to me either. Now that I have a better understanding of what it is, I want to share with all of you the same things, I came to learn.

Personal Branding is very easy to understand, but not so easy for some people to do. Making a name for yourself is personal branding. We do it on a daily basis with our friends and family. If you tell somebody you will be there every day at 6am, and you show up at 5:45am every day well, you have given yourself a reputation for being reliable. All it takes is one person to spread the word and you are known by many people as being reliable. People will come to know you and trust you. Many people you have never met will know you as reliable. That is how personal branding works.

Now, ask yourself this. What do I want to be known for? What will my personal brand be?

The internet is full of easy ways to get the word out about you. Social networking is one of the fastest ways for you to establish your presence on the net. Websites like Twitter, Facebook, Better Networker, Myspace, they all give you instant access and best of all, every one of them are free. We all love that word. Doing blog posts is another way to introduce you to the world. You can post what is on your mind. What you are trying to do at this point is let the world know, “Hey, I am here and I have something to share with you.” Maybe you want to try some video shots. YouTube is a great Free video submitting site. There are literally thousands of websites out there you can post your info on for free. The more people see your name, the more you will become known on the net.

So now that I have given you a quick overview of personal branding, I encourage you to do some research for yourself. Once you find out everything I have told you is true, you should get in touch with me for a more in depth explanation.
