Internet marketing can be a good way for you to start in your home business. Affiliate marketing is going to give you the chance to sell either a product or a service. With little money and little space you may want to concentrate on services.

Once you have made the decision, you want to evaluate your skills. What services can you offer and what skills can you bring. A lot of people begin with affiliate marketing programs from major search engines. If you're good at website design, you could register your page with someone like a as yahoo publisher. This way your webpage is going to get traffic with the help of the search engine Yahoo. If yours is a sales website, your traffic can convert into increased sales. The more exposure to your site the better.

The other thing you could try to do is attract traffic to more sites. Retail sites such as Amazon and EBay have good programs. If you are able to generate traffic and convert to sales then you make an income. These two programs provide ways to increase profits through links and blogs. These are commonly free and worth using. Remember, the more you make the more they make.

Finally, your site could make money in more ways. When it is posted on pages like yahoo publisher or Google ad sense, there will be ads placed. Whenever a visitor clicks on an ad you generate. The more clicks, the more cash. The operators take care of all the advertising costs and placement. They also try to place appropriate ads to your page. If you're selling rare books ads for fish food are not likely going to get clicked.

If you need to start working for yourself but feel you don't possess the money then you are wrong. If you have a pc and room to put it then you possess all you need. You can also begin your home business and work it around your schedule. You can gradually commit more time as your home business grows.

If you're tired of your job and really want to work for yourself then enough excuses and do it. Through affiliate marketing programs and selling services you will find that owning your home business is easier than you think. All it takes is effort and a commitment to succeed.

By taking advantage of the affiliate marketing programs that are now available, you can generate money and improve your own marketing abilities. Remember, you can always expand into more areas and try out totally on your own later. Right now, get marketing and get clicking.

Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
