Dog Walking Business

This can be both a fun and profitable home business. A professional dog walker takes clients' dogs for regular walks eitherone at a time or a number of dogs together. Dog walking is a growing industry as many families find their schedules are too busy to provide the regular exercise their pet needs.

The only real requirements for this type of service is a genuine affection for dogs and the physical capability to take the dogs for a walk. You do not have to be an animal expert although it is advisable to learn what you can about dog behavior and and dog care and safety. You can do this by reading the right books from your local library and researching the topic on the internet. You do need to be responsible and reliable. Commitment is essential - you still have to take the dogs out in bad weather and when you may not feel energetic or like walking!

Your start up costs are low. Your expenses will include dog walking insurance and some advertising costs to promote your dog walking service. Your dog walking fees vary greatly depending on where you live. The national average appears to fall between $15 to $20 for a half hour walk, however in some cities this can increase substantially. Group walks will increase your revenue. Depending on how many hours you put in a day you can earn a reasonable income from a dog walking business.

Pet Sitting Business

Pet owners use pet sitters to help them take care of their pets. There are over 63 million pet owners in the U.S. alone and many pet owners make use of a pet sitting service to look after their pets when they are at work all day or away on vacation or business. This is thriving home business industry andone of the best easy home business ideas.

Pet sitting involve visiting the pets in their homes and performing various pet care duties. These can include feeding the animals, walking the dogs, basic grooming, administering medications, changing litter boxes and cleaning up messes. Pet sitting services for pet owners away on vacation can also include picking up the mail, turning lights on and off and watering plants.

Again you need to genuinely love animals to start a pet sitter business. You should also be informed about taking care of the different types of pets and you can learn this yourself through research and reading. You need to be responsible and committed. Pet sitters typically work over holiday periods when pet owners are away from home.

Start up costs are low. You will need pet sitting insurance to protect yourself against any liability claims. Advertising and marketing your business will require some initial investment. Once your business is established your running costs basically amount to transport costs and phone costs. No professional license is needed to become a pet sitter however you may need to get a general business license depending on your city and state requirements.

Your pet sitting prices will depend on your area. The National Association of Pet Sitters estimates the national average for pet sitter fees to be about $16 per visit with each visit being 20 to 30 minutes long. You can earn extra money for each additional pet in the house and for any extra services you include.

Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers - When I came back to Japan in 1999 I sometimes used to ask my students if they would buy anything on the Internet and at that time most thought it was too risky. I'd encourage them to try by using well known sites such as Amazon.co.jp and also pointed out that using a credit card on a reputable site was safer than using it at a restaurant. I can't remember the last time I had that discussion or when the "tipping point" occurred in Japan. To answer your other question, I use Paypal for several reasons: 1. Brand familiarity 2. Easy to use 3. Free to withdraw 50,000yen+ to my Japanese bank account - a huge benefit (but maybe other systems also offer that...?) 4. Easy to cancel subscriptions On the down side, their transaction fees are quite costly, they are difficult to contact and when disputes arise you can sometimes lose even when you can prove via your tracking service that the disputed item was "delivered" to the customer's address!
