Are There Really Enough Hours in the Day to Be An Internet Marketer?

Ihave been asked time and time again, how much time I spend as an internet marketer. While my answer may be a little bit different than others, they may also have different results. See I started out as a part time marketer while I was still working 70+ hours a week. Wonder when I found the time? Well, looking back on when I started, I have to laugh and chuckle on how I made the time. There were times that my lunch break involved writing an article, listening to a previous training call or reaching out to other marketers for ideas.

How Do You Go About It?

Whether you have your own product to market (which I don't), have the ability to sell other people's products (affiliate), or sell some services; there are certain ways you could go to market. While you may have used one or all of the following marketing strategies, I hope you aren't doing them all at once. Let's go through the following strategies:

Now there are other very daunting tasks that revolve around these marketing strategies that I would like to mention:

When I first started...

Like I said I started out part time spending a couple hours a day building myself a strong foundation. Some may say that I spent way too much time focusing on my foundation that I may have missed other opportunities. I started building my brand, what I was going to be known for, and how I was going to contribute to the world. I started out learning how to do different things, how things worked, and what they meant. After that I wrote an article on them. I wrote an article to share my knowledge and to start positioning myself as a leader and teacher. I will tell you that it did not take long for other internet marketers to start approaching me for guidance and how I was being successful in many different ways.

What I Didn't Allow To Happen

After about six months of not only working 70+ hours a week at my career I built for 15 years, and 2-3 hours a week on my internet marketing business I made a change. I took my business full time at home and made the transition from a store manager']);"> retail store manager to entrepreneur. I knew I did not want to get in the rut that many do; I didn't allow myself to start working 90 hours a week from home. I knew that there were so many different possibilities to market my business that I wasn't going to allow them to consume me.

How I Became Successful

There are a few different things that I did to become successful with my online business. First of all I had to change my mindset. I did this by understanding that I owned my own company and whether it prospered or failed, it was because of what I did or didn't do. I obtained the mindset that I would not allow my business to take over my life and become a slave of a digital world. I went about this by reading a couple books and also masterminding with likeminded people on a daily basis.

My second step was to pick two marketing strategies that I had some knowledge about and felt that I wanted to learn more about. While I knew a little bit about computers I knew I would learn along the way, and I have to say I have impressed myself. I chose to really dig into article marketing and a good amount of paid advertising. I soon found out after starting I knew a lot less than I thought I knew, but I was okay with that.

I went full force into learning these new skills, I have prospered from it and will continue honing my skills and taking my business to the next level.

So to answer your question, "Are there really enough hours in the day to be an intern marketer?"; the answer is yes! You cannot manage the time in the day but you can manage how you manage yourself and what you do throughout the day.

Roughly seventeen years ago I began my career into retail, and had been with the same major retailer for the past fourteen years. I can remember starting out and I really had no idea what to expect or to do. To me it was a new company, new people, new rules, new expectations, new everything! How was I going to remember everything and prosper? I quickly learned who the leaders were and began observing and studying their responses to different situations. I have always had a strong internal feeling that I could do more: for other people and for my family. I have found this by joining a team that focuses on helping others obtain their dreams and becoming more in tune what really matters in life, our loved ones around us.

Re: QUESTION: What's the most important thing you do for your bu Re: QUESTION: What's the most important thing you do for your bu - Good Question Evan, Hard to answer as we always seem to be keeping several balls in the air at the same time so my answer would be to stay disciplined and focussed and trust your long term plan. It seems a bit cheesy to say that but I find it's true because if I don't stay focussed I will lose all discipline and that is something that is a must for any aspiring Internet Marketer. regards, Mal.
Re: I thought social sites were a waste of time. How wrong I was Re: I thought social sites were a waste of time. How wrong I was - Social Media has only really been understood this last year or two. Before that I didn’t really understand or like Facebook for example because of the problems separating Family and Friends from Business. Twitter seemed a total waste of my time and a lot of people seemed to spend all their time building up their followers to brag about how many they have got. Now I understand the basics a bit more I can appreciate the value particularly of Twitter in building up relationships with others in your niche with a view to doing business later. If people follow me and are active in the general Internet world or marketing in particularly then I follow back immediately otherwise I don’t see the point. You could argue I suppose that someone who breeds dogs and enjoys painting for example might suddenly become an Internet Marketer and I am missing out on not following them but I tend to stick within my niche. regards, Mal.
