If you are considering starting or have already started an internet marketing business, I would suggest article marketing as a tool. With the invention of the internet and how content whether it be articles, videos or even pictures; it has the ability to go viral very quickly. When you use article marketing as one of your tools to market your business you are using a very powerful means to advertise. You have the ability to touch millions of people all over the world with your ideas and thoughts.

Is it Free Advertising?

Article marketing by some people is considered free while others do not because of the amount of time that someone normally invests in the process. With article marketing there are a few simple rules that you want to go by, in which I cover many of these on my blog. The great thing about article marketing is that when someone helps circulate your content, it has the chance of going out to another thousand people or so.

What to do with Content

There are thousands of sites to submit your content to, I would start with your blog and then other high ranking sites like EzineArticles, Article Base, Evan Carmichael and Better Networker to name a few. You do have the ability to take the same piece of content and put it on different sites; just remember the site that is indexed first with the content is the one that gets the best search engine ranking. There are also programs that allow you to submit articles to one site that send it out to hundreds of others, there are pro's and con's to this practice so please investigate the program before doing this.

Do They Ever Go Away?

The great thing about article marketing is that they never go away and they just keep spreading all over the internet which allows more and more people to see you and your content. You will also find people that like your content so much that they use your content on their site. Now the proper way to do this is to give credit to the original author and a hyperlink from their name to the source of the content obtained. This helps links for your site and additional traffic, so it is not a bad thing as long as people play fair and don't totally rip you off.

This is Getting Huge

Everyday another article marketing sites comes online which gives you the chance to get even more of your content in front of readers. Many sites that accept articles also have made some really great enhancements that keep readers flocking to them and also enhancing their RSS feeds that keep pumping out valuable content to thousands of readers on a daily basis.

Don't Forget This

At the bottom of every article or any piece of content that you provide to the World Wide Web, add a resource box at the bottom. This resource box must contain an action that you want them to take, tell them what to do next or they will just go back to surfing the web. If you want them to go back to your blog, watch a video or sign up for a weekly newsletter; tell them to.

Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
