If you currently have, or are considering starting, an online business you need to learn about hyperlinks. Hyperlinks play a very important role to all of us on the internet. Hyperlinks not only help you as a business owner but they also help readers. A hyperlink within text is a blue word with an underline that once clicked it sends you to another site. Any hyperlink within an article can also send readers to other relevant articles that you may have written. For a reader this can be very beneficial because it allows them to connect almost effortlessly. So if I wrote this article and used the word online business in here I could make "online business" a hyperlink to my online business, another relevant article or blog post I wrote.

Can They Help Your Page Rank?

Well, let me think about that for a second...YES!!!! When you use hyperlinks on a webpage it increases your page rank. Your page rank is measured by hyperlinks with many more different variables. When you insert a hyperlink you want to take into consideration the position, font, and capitalization, and how relevant it is to the site you are linking to. When you link to another site you want to take into consideration the page rank of the other site. When you link to a very high page ranking site it automatically increase the value of your page and importance. As we all know, any article, page, video, or press release that obtains a high page rank allows a higher possibility of appearing on page one of a search engine.

An Online Business with Hyperlinks

If you have an online business or an internet presence for your brick and mortar business, hyperlinks can help. With an online presence it becomes a question of marketing to the billions of people around the world. If you have a website that is promoting your lawn mowing series of tractors and you write articles or blog posts this is your chance. If you wrote an article on lawn mowers and their features you could add a hyperlink in that goes to the lawn mower you are selling. Another idea would be if you are a pet shop owner and just started selling a rare breed of birds, you could also promote the supplies needed for bird care via by hyperlink. The possibilities are endless!

Don't be Distractive

Many people you talk to will have different opinions about hyperlinks and their benefits. In today's digital age it is very common and widely accepted to have two or three hyperlinks in an article or news release. My advice is to not have more than three hyperlinks, too many will become very distractive and confusing to the reader. Some individuals are totally against hyperlinks because they are very scared on losing that customer or reader. In my opinion, if you are providing relevant, enlightening content, you will not lose the reader.

Link Bait Gotcha?

Ever heard of link bait? If has become well used online and with many online marketers to drive their online business. Link bait is a feature or product in any give website that lures the readers to another site. A great example would be like a banner ad that is animated to catch a person's eye. Many successful marketers like myself consider this a very effective way to market a product or service. The Benefits Are Abundant

There are so many benefits to hyperlinking and if you use them properly they can help you make a lot of money. Hyperlinking is like anything else you do in life you do in life, the first couple of times that you do it you may wonder if it works. Have faith in this and watch how your page ranks and your site visits start growing.
