Keep It Simple, Stupid and how it can affects an Online Business

K.I.S.S. is an acronym originally designed as "Keep it Simple and Stupid" but it is commonly known as "Keep it Simple, Stupid" it was first coined by a lead engineer at the Lockheed Skunk works by an engineered named Kelly Johnson. His whole thought process around this was we try to fix the simplest things with the most difficult practices.

I recently was introduced to the Keep It Simple, Stupid concept by a friend on e-How named mistylovesbella who commented on an article I wrote called "How to set up your Twitter Account in 15 minutes". I broke this article down to the lamest terms just like a GPS would, turn by turn directions, click by click instructions, so I got to thinking of Keep it Simple, Stupid and how it can affect an online business.

Way to many times many programs, programmers or leaders of online businesses have you doing a million different things at once to grow your business, just because they have seen others be successful. The problem you get with this is it isn't simple any longer, with too many options and to new of people it is a good recipe for disaster. Disaster in the online business world means people leaving unhappy, disbelievers and naysayers. To where if we as industry leaders would just Keep It Simple, Stupid we can be more of a mentor, coach and build a friendship that lasts many years, think of the time you were getting started, who helped you along?

Take your online business for example; is it simple to understand? Is your website easy to navigate, does it flow naturally? Are you offering the solution the person was looking for as they were directed to your website, article, blog or any other content providing site? In the "Simple" terms, Keep It Simple, Stupid means Simplicity lasts, simplicity gets the thought or idea across to everyone.

As a business owner I have to Keep It Simple, Stupid for many people around me or that look up to me for answers, while I know and continue to learn more everyday about marketing online, I started earlier than many and have more experience. I have individuals reaching out to me on "how to set up a Facebook Account" "How to upload pictures to my website" "how to use Twitter to generate leads" and many others, this is why I have started writing many "How to" articles and I am using the Keep It Simple, Stupid thought process when doing so. We are in a position to help others and build long lasting relationships, be the mentor, teacher or coach you can be, be the guide for another successful individual.

If you are still wondering how Keep It Simple, Stupid and how it affects an online business is really a concern, just try asking your "client" to go figure out the Google algorithmby telling them to search for it on the Google search engine.

The Keep It Simple, Stupid and how it affects an online business can be summed up by words spoken by The Dalai Llama when he said "Simplicity is the key to happiness in the modern world".

Roughly seventeen years ago I began my career into retail, and had been with the same major retailer for the past fourteen years. I can remember starting out and I really had no idea what to expect or to do. To me it was a new company, new people, new rules, new expectations, new everything! How was I going to remember everything and prosper? I quickly learned who the leaders were and began observing and studying their responses to different situations. I have always had a strong internal feeling that I could do more: for other people and for my family. I have found this by joining a team that focuses on helping others obtain their dreams and becoming more in tune what really matters in life, our loved ones around us.

Re: What would you like to see be invented? Re: What would you like to see be invented? - Hi Tim, That is very true! There's way too many 'drugs' these days that have worse side-affects than the reason for you taking them in the first place. It makes me laugh half the time when I see a commercial and they're going through all the side-affects. It's quite sad really. Depending on why you're taking the drugs and what symptoms they're supposed to prevent, you're sometimes better off going without them! At least it seems that way. I suppose severe side-affects are the minority, but you're right, we need drugs that have none at all.
