With so many different ways to promote your business, are you ready to find a few proven internet marketing strategies that really have been successful? There are an abundance of ways to promote your business and the problem with so many different ways, internet marketing owners do not know where to start or they try so many things they actually fail at them all. I would like to cover a few proven internet marketing strategies that I have personally used and while some may be free, others do cost to advertise. I am providing you these internet marketing strategies based on the level of traffic, from the highest and quickest traffic building to the least.

I am not ranking these different avenues of marketing based on best, better, good or poor as these are all great internet marketing strategies but each requires different skills, mindset and levels of expectations.

Pay Per Click Marketing

Pay per Click marketing is just as it sounds, as people click on your ad, whether it is a banner ad, a text ad, or hyper link ad; you are charged for every click. While many people do not like to use this as one of their internet marketing strategies, it is the one that can have the most increase in traffic in the shortest amount of time to your desired site. Pay per Click marketing can be as low as five cents per click and I have seen as high as fifty dollars per click, it really depends on your industry; the industry that I am in which is working from home ranges from five cents to five to ten dollars per click.

With Pay per Click marketing you have the ability to write a small ad and submit to really any site and input "keywords" that your ad would be shown for. Below is a general example:

My Keywords could be: work from home, work from home opportunity, internet business ideas and any others that I want to target and feel are relevant.

Word to the wise, while this can turn your business around quickly and drive tons of traffic to your site(s) very quickly, it is not a strategy that I recommend for the uneducated. This marketing can cost you a great deal of money (as I learned the hard way) if you are not educated properly, and some search engines are much more lenient than others; but you can be suspended if you do not set up your marketing correctly. My suggestion is to start with Yahoo/Bing and start out small and very targeted to get your feet wet, but make sure you watch their free training videos to help prevent the mistakes I have made.

Video Marketing

Video marketing has become a very powerful component of any successful internet marketer and really any business owner, people love videos and are actually able to get a true sense of the person and their true intent. Video marketing for the most part is a free avenue to drive traffic to your business and does not take much time to make a short two or three minute video and upload to many of the video submission sites. With Google now owning YouTube, your best bet is to get a free account on YouTube and upload a few videos about your business; I would suggest mixing in your opportunity or whatever you are promoting with educational videos. You may be wondering "educational" videos, what exactly do you mean, and how can I go about doing that?

If you are in the heating and air conditioner repair business and have a website, great, step one is done! Now grab a camcorder and shoot a few videos on how to change a filter, how to check for Freon leaks and other small tasks that are very specific to what you offer as a business owner. This not only shows you as an expert in your field but also shows that you are really looking to help people and not only line your pockets. You have the ability to show your videos on YouTube and also your website, and when someone sees your videos they can become attracted to you and your business, with really great videos many watchers will leave great comments and share your video with friends.

Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the proven internet marketing strategies that I use and have used for a very long time, it is free and it can become very powerful over time. If you remember early in the article I stated:

"I am providing you these internet marketing strategies based on the level of traffic, from the highest and quickest traffic building to the least"

Article marketing is a strategy that takes time and is not one expected to drive a massive amount of traffic in just a few days, more like a compounding effort on your part of submitting articles on a daily basis. You can write an article on your business opportunity or how to do something in your specific industry (this article is an example of how to do something) and submit to thousands of different sites for free. While you can submit your article to many different sites, be rest assured that not all sites are the same and they actually have different ranking statuses.

To use this strategy and be successful; you will need to write one article a day and submit to many different sites. There are ways to submit one article to hundreds of different sites at once, but that is a paid program that I have seen cost anywhere from fifty dollars to hundreds of dollars. You may be wondering how I do my article marketing, and I really enjoy controlling everything about my articles and how they are submitted, I manually submit each one. You may wonder if it takes extra time and the answer is yes it does but it is my name on the article so it is a direct reflection of me and my business.

In closing I would just like to remind you that these are all proven internet marketing strategies and some are a little easier to learn and manage, each has a different level of return on investment. The true key to any strategy is YOU! You are the person that is required to take action every single day and make sure that you take steps to not only market but also educate yourself and spread the information.

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.

You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great. Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way, best wishes, Mal.
Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
