Start a Part Time Internet Marketing Business Without Losing Your Mind

If you are thinking of starting a part time internet marketing business there are a few things that I would like to get out in the open. There are many ways to go about doing this, some are more costly, some are more beneficial and some are downright dumb. I have been a successful internet marketer for quite awhile and I have made mistakes and got cuts and bruises along the way, hopefully this will help prevent you from making them also.

Choose the Right Opportunity

I had tried a conventional MLM business because I knew that I had the entrepreneur mentality and the drive but past that I didn't know much more. I knew that I wanted to start a part time internet marketing business, and I joined the first one that was put in front of me. While the opportunity seemed great, it was not something that I knew that I could feel good about promoting or telling people that I was promoting that product or service. Any opportunity that you join you will need to make sure you can feel good about what you do and tell others about it.

Who will be Your Go to Person?

No matter whom you are or what you have done in your past, everyone needs someone that they can go to for direction, support and guidance. Just like the world known Napoleon Hill, he wrote a brilliant book called "Think and Grow Rich", that is decades old but still read by millions today. He was a brilliant person but had 50 individuals that he masterminded with, he listened to them, received guidance and has become one of the most brilliant investors. You will also need this type of guidance, maybe not 50 people all at once, but a close knit community is a great asset to have.

Find Free Ways to Advertise

There are tons of ways to advertise your part time internet marketing business, many marketers use article marketing, video marketing, blogs and free classified ads. One very hot and dominant way to market your business right now is Social Media, there are so many social media sites that are free to join and network with people. One word to the wise is to not cram your opportunity down people's throats, provide good content and build friendships with people, be active and this will attract people to you.

When Are You Ready?

There are certain times in your life that starting a new internet marketing business makes sense and other times it does not. If you are already working 70+ hours a week in your career (like I was) and have no time but to sleep, this may or may not be very motivational. If you do not feel that you can commit to 10-15 hours a week to your business, it may not be the most opportune time for you to start. If you just lost your job, yes you may be very tight on money but have tons of time; there are many ways to drive your business with free advertising like I covered above. You will know when a good time is, it is up to you, but whatever you do, once you start keep going and never stop

Roughly seventeen years ago I began my career into retail, and had been with the same major retailer for the past fourteen years. I can remember starting out and I really had no idea what to expect or to do. To me it was a new company, new people, new rules, new expectations, new everything! How was I going to remember everything and prosper? I quickly learned who the leaders were and began observing and studying their responses to different situations. I have always had a strong internal feeling that I could do more: for other people and for my family. I have found this by joining a team that focuses on helping others obtain their dreams and becoming more in tune what really matters in life, our loved ones around us.

Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.

Books for Women Entrepreneurs Books for Women Entrepreneurs - There's a thread for good books in the Resources folder, but it doesn't target books for businesswomen particularly, so I figured I'd start such a thread here. It doesn't matter how successful you are in your business - it's always possible to learn something new. In subsequent posts I give Table of Contents and brief descriptions for various titles - most of them devoted to the businesswoman - and sometimes a review.
