Affiliate Marketing Website - 7 Tips To Increase Traffic and Build Rankings

As a matter of fact any website will not have any visitors if no attempt is made to boost its rankings. Your website ranking really depends on a lot of factors. I am not going to list all of them. But to maintain a steady natural growth in the eyes of search engines, there are some things which you must do consistently for your affiliate marketing website.

An affiliate marketing website is useless if it is not indexed or ranked high in the search engines. As a matter of fact any website will not have any visitors if no attempt is made to boost its rankings. Your website ranking really depends on a lot of factors. I am not going to list all of them. But to maintain a steady natural growth in the eyes of search engines, there are some things which you must do consistently.

Here are my 7 tips to help you get started if you are feeling lost.



1. Update Your Website or Blog Regularly

Add new content to your website or blog regularly. Write articles or publish product reviews. Even if you have written on an article before, expand on it or break it up into smaller articles. It might be difficult to write product review sometimes but you can also evaluate a free e-book or a trial product. There is no rule on how much you should write but suffice to say about 8 articles a month is good.

2. Submit Your Website to Directories

Submitting websites to directories can help add you to their directory listing. Some of these directories require registration. Free ones are available but if you pay for it you will get better listing and more visibility for your affiliate marketing website. My advice will be to submit to at least 20 directories every month.



3. Submit Your Articles to Article Directories

Choose any of your articles and submit them to article directories. The more article directories you submit, the better your rankings. There is no general limit to the amount of article directories you can submit to. But do submit them to quality high PR directories. It might be tedious to manually submit each of them to article directories but you will see the reward coming sooner or later from doing this. Alternatively if you have an article submission software it will save you time doing manual submissions.

4. Post Comments in Forums

If you have not registered to any forums related to your niche then do so now. Stay active in 1 or 2 forums and participate in the discussions. Don't limit yourself to saying "thanks" or "a great post". Post something useful and of value to your peers that can also be shared around. For all you know, you will start building your network there and a whole new group of friends. My advice would be to post at least 1 or 2 comments every day. This will build backlinks to your affiliate marketing website.

5. Post Comments on Blogs

Isn't it obvious here also. Although blogs may work the same as forums, posting comments on "dofollow" blogs can build backlinks to your website. Find a list of "dofollow" blogs and make good useful comments on them. Find 30 blog posts or one a day and post comments on them.

6. Use Social Bookmarking Websites.

Social bookmarking websites had not much emphasis until recently. It has gotten more popular over the past few years because it reaches out to everyone and information has a higher chance of reaching the masses through social networks or websites. A great way to start bookmarking your blog posts on social websites is through SocialMarker. You can search in on Google. It has a huge list of Social Websites. Register for SocialMarker and add your blog posts to increase backlinks and traffic to your affiliate marketing website.

7. Use Twitter

There is an option for you to tweet your blog or article immediately after posting them. I always do this after posting them and I do see an increase of followers after that. You can also tweet about interesting products or services related to your niche. That being said it is important to have followers who are in the same niche as your affiliate marketing website.

There are pros and cons to Affiliate Marketing, just as there are to any business. As has been suggested, he best policy is to proceed with caution and do some research before jumping in. As Carol has recommended, this topic thread in the EvanCarmichael.com forum is the ideal place to ask questions and seek further input on available Affiliate Marketing programs. If a person is serious about building an online business and is interested in Affiliate Marketing plans, they should approach the process as they would any other form of business. Research, ask questions, compare opportunities, participate in forums on online business and Affiliate Marketing. GT :-]
Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion - Hi GT Affiliate Marketing is one of the easier ways to get started making money online, but it does take quite a bit of work before you see any great results as you have to keep promoting constantly. It does teach you one hell of a lot about all aspects of Internet Marketing though as you will need to learn how to write and submit articles, create and maintain a blog, social networking is a great help to affiliates too..the list goes on and on. As i said earlier I have learned a lot with Affiliate Marketing and continue to do so, and it has helped me tremendously to understand what I am going to have to do in my chosen niche(s).
