If you can read, write and click a mouse you can already start blogging. It really is that simple. Literally anyone can have a blog or start a blog these days. Of course if it is as easy as that to have a blog, why wouldn't you? If you are in the network marketing field or into affiliate marketing, having a blog is a very useful way to provide valuable information to your customers or prospects. This article touches on three important reasons why you should start a blog for your business.

A very well know internet marketer describes your blog as your home base! The reason is quite simple. Having a blog is like having a piece of real estate online! It is yours and no one else can have a piece of it. All other websites like Facebook, Google or Yahoo may run the possibility of collapsing one day and you will have no control over it. As you might know already, their rules constantly change. And It is all done to benefit themselves and not the users. What if Google goes bankrupt one day and what if Facebook faces legal action and never to return again. Of course the possibility of that is low but it might just happen. Having a blog hosted separately from this website sets you free from these problems.

Secondly, your blog is like your diary! People blog just about anything nowadays. Similarly, if you are running a business from home, adding content spreads the word about what you are doing. For example, if you are in the gardening niche and you are selling gardening products. Blogging about gardening tips, useful gardening tools, gardening tricks is a fantastic way to tell your future prospects or customers about gardening.

Having a blog is also a good way to interact with your readers. Although there might be more effective mediums to interact or discuss things online like a forum, blog comments help build your fan base and some may even want to use your articles on their own websites which is a plus sign for your publicity.

If you are planning to set up a blog I would highly recommend setting your blog on a domain and then signing up for a free Wordpress account to start your blog. Some of you might have a blog on Blogger or LiveJournal. For example having a blog hosted on Blogger will end with their own ending prefix. It is better for you to have a blog hosted on your own domain without Blogger's ending prefix even if you are using the Blogger interface. And for the record, it is much better to have a blog with Wordpress as the search engines love it especially Google. So now you know three main reasons to start blogging, so start your blog today!

Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy - Hi David, I agree about the Blogosphere. You have a smaller group that Blog, but do so on the premise that they think they should, but have never really considered the purpose of their Blog. Then I think there are a few SEO or Internet Marketing types that see Blogging as just another link building strategy. But the largest group of Bloggers, tend to be people who enjoy writing and discussing their topics of interest. Blogging is good for link building, but the true Blogger is a breed apart from the rest. They want to dialog, to debate, to have feedback and they are very willing to link to other worthwhile conversations that are relevant to their topic. I agree with you. These group of Bloggers obviously are passionate about their writing and together, they create huge conversation trails interactive and travel from Blog to Blog. But the evidence is clear with this group that loves what they write about. With comments enabled on a Blog and having a Blog tuned to a specific purpose you already have the evidence of original Social Media.
