Tradmark Speech Is Not One To Gum Up For Your Speaking Business Sake!

In the beginning of ones speaking business, he has to assemble what is commonly called his or her signature speech or trademark speech. One of the most important aspects of the talk is that it should lead into paid bookings later on down the line. This speech is not one you want to gum up otherwise you my not be asked to other engagements.

You also want to make sure it’s a timeless speech. Meaning you want to be able to use it over and over again. You want to be able to use it today as well as two years from now. It’ll be…just one more speech you can always draw from of your talks of many. It’s a good idea to have a short version and a long version as well. Crafting your signature speech or talk should revolve around something your very passionate about. Something that makes you special.

Something that you felt so strong about, that you were going to do it, no matter what. Maybe it was your first date or when you asked your wife to marry you. Maybe it was getting your high school or college diploma. Maybe it was landing a specific job or running a marathon. It’s the X factor or sweet spot that no one can explain.

Other than it’s what makes you unique, that there is no one else in the whole world like you. This will be your signature speech, and you can tell it over and over again. It will be your most dynamic speech, the one your most passionate about, the one that most clients or meeting planners will ask you to give. You can always change it a little, but in the end it’s still you, its your signature speech.

It could have been something you wanted to accomplish or it was something you wanted to do. It didn’t matter what obstacles came up, you were going to make it happen. This is exactly what I’m talking about, this is your signature speech. This is what makes you, you. Once the meeting planner sees or hears of how your talk went over, you’ll get plenty of word-of-mouth about you. Providing you know your stuff, the cast is set! It’s like a snow ball. Word travels fast! From that point on you should get more bookings.

Now you want to know, how do get the chance to give your signature speech? That’s really the easy part. First thing is get your local city newspaper or yellow pages or use the internet. You want to find the local clubs, YMCA, library, Rotary Club, Veteran of Foreign Wars or church. What you do is called and ask to speak to the meeting planner.

The best one I would start with is your local Chamber of Commerce. Plus, you can always located a local Toastmaster Chapter for you area. They’re worldwide and have been around since 1924 with thousands of members. All this can be done in a relativity short amount of time. It’s up to you how much time you want to invest into your speaking business. If you’ve decided this is something you want to pursue, go for it and give your signature speech!
