Home Based Business Opportunities – Home Based Business Ideas

A thriving home based business can be a great opportunity to make additional income. If you become really successful, you can even replace and surpass your present income from home. If you are considering starting your own business from home, getting involved in an area that you already have experience in may be the best choice for you. This article was written to help get your creative juices flowing.

Here are 10 Home Based Business Ideas:

1. Accounting Business:

If you have experience in the accounting industry, then starting your own accounting business from home may be a good fit for you. All you need is the experience that you already possess and a list of business leads and connections to get the ball rolling. You can even contact existing accountants and offer your services. Many accountants are overloaded with work and would gladly outsource their work to experienced candidates.

2. Book Keeping Business:

This is different from an accounting business. Accountants usually hire out part of their work to bookkeepers. Book keeping is a prepared report that records all of the financial transactions that occurs for a business that includes all income collected and expenses paid out.

3. Car Repair Business:

If you have mechanical experience, then you can hire out yourself and your tools to repair cars and trucks. All you need is some mechanical skills (the more you have, the better), tools and a garage or drive way.

4. Delivery Service:

You can open your delivery or courier service from home. You can hire independent courier who have cars and bikes to deliver packages in your local area. All you need is a computer, phone, newspaper ads for couriers and some business connections.

5. Dog Walking Business:

Offer your services to canines in your area. Dog walking is a business that many professionals with busy lifestyles and a lack of time need. Many people are starting to hire dog walkers in this day and age.

6. Electrician:

You can hire you services out as an independent contractor. All you need is tools, experience and a vehicle preferably a pick up or van.

7. Forex Trading:

If you like dealing with money and currencies, then a forex trading business may be right up your alley. Forex Exchange is to simultaneously buy one country’s currency and sell another country’s currency to earn a profit.

8. House Cleaning:

You can start your own house cleaning business. All you need is a car, cleaning supplies and connections to offer your services to. You can even hire general labourers and contract their services out for profit.

9. Lumping Business:

You can hire out the services of general labourers who specifically do work for shippers and receivers in warehouse chains. You hire out the labourers for a flat rate or even an hourly rate. Many huge grocery or produce chains use the lumping services to assist with the receiving of their truck load deliveries that the get every day. Lumpers basically break down skids of product into a specific dimension that the company requests.

10. Sewing Business:

If you have experience sewing clothing or any type of fabric, then your own sewing business may be a good fit for you. All you need is an industrial grade sewing machine, steam iron machine and preferably a basement. Many clothing suppliers will gladly contract their work out if you are willing to pick up and drop off.

These types of businesses are just some ideas to get you started with your own home based business. Keep in mind that it is always best to go into business with skills and know how that you already possess. If you take your skills and add some Entrepreneurial logic to the mix, you will end up with a thriving and rewarding home based business that will make you become self reliant.

Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need.
