Formal Education Vs. Self-Education

You will determine what you become and the money you will make ...If you invest in your self-education. “Formal education will make you a living. Self-education will make you a fortune” - Jim Rohn

How true this quote is for us all. There is more to life after school ends for us all. Whether you have a doctorate, or a PhD or a basic High School diploma like me, you will always learn new things as you grow through your life. Having a formal education is important and does help build you as a young person, but your learning about life just begins after school ends.

Taking the time to invest in yourself, whether it is daily meditation upon life, whether it is reading books about things you never knew anything about or even possibly developing a new hobby...you are still learning something new.

Having a desire or a will to do things, does not change your old habits or even your mindset on life itself. You must without a doubt develop an insatiable attraction of developing yourself. Do what the other 97% of people decide not do. Read more books, educate your mind, develop new friends, find new thought patterns. Become a leader not only within your household, but to others around you.

In order to change your lifestyle and become the person you have always dreamed about becoming you must put in the time and effort to develop new skills, habits, traits, mindset in order to change your own bank account.

If money means nothing to you – then at least you are changing you life for the better.

Look deep within your heart and soul...what is it that you desire the most out of life that you cannot seem to grasp? That is what you need to work on. That is what you need to figure out and how to make it crystal clear and manifest itself into reality.

You must always be self-educating yourself, or your dreams, aspirations, goals in life will never be obtained.

To your Success,

Hi, my name is Thomas C. Chandler. I am happily married with three children. I was in the Mortgage Banking Industry for over 13+ years. I was sick of deadlines, sick of taking the fall for things out of my control. So, I did a ton of research and found a Professional Online Marketing Platform that allows me to teach others how to market themselves or their business to people all across the global. I love Mountain biking and teaching my children about life and how to handle and deal with the 'real' world. I look forward in speaking with you soon. Warmly yours, Thomas C. Ivy League vs. Affordable school Ivy League vs. Affordable school - To play devils Advocate .... Prestigious school vs. Education I can afford? Does going to a prestigious school gaurantee success? I'm sure it helps - imagine the contacts made - powerful I assume. Also there is the pressure of being an alma mater of a school where everyone else is driven to succeed by thier parents. But, what if you got the "Education you can afford". It's still education. You are forced to analyze, engage in relationships, manage your school mates, and deliver on deadlines. What's the common denominator when you get out of school? Is it the ability to take action? The ability to see the big picture and then take the necessary actions to bring a project to completion? There's that action word again! what do you think?

Re: 10 ideas to make you money in 2010 Re: 10 ideas to make you money in 2010 - I think Education would be hard to break into. Baby Boomers, Life Support and Trading Down, however, seem like good markets. As for Green technology goes, I don't think the business has to be entirely based on Green ideologies, but rather a business that embrace Green philosophies and use that as a marketing tool.

Re: Fundraising for school activities such as sports, clubs Re: Fundraising for school activities such as sports, clubs - You all are kind of joking about it - but in Nova Scotia the Department of Education has put very strict limitations on "non-healthy foods" in the schools. Hotdogs, pepperoni pizza with white flour, pop and candy and chocolate bars and the list goes on and on. Some are not allowed at all in cafeterias and vending machines and some are limited to only a certain number of times a month. I'm not advocating the "panhandling" or the making money from offering up "bad" food, the problem is funding is hard for everyone. Schools are underfunded and need help but the funds are not there. I also cannot stand how many fundraisers are out there - my 3 kids had over 6 "events" by the end of the 2nd month of school this year. Not sure of the right answer, as it is also hard to get volunteers to help out - I did that before as well! A fellow VA in the States said their school does no fundraising and instead "donate" $10 per month per child and get a tax receipt(I think). After all I have experienced, I think I'd prefer that at this point...but then you lose out on the feeling of "community" by having some of the more fun fundraisers like Spring Fairs.
