Four Steps in Mastering Success in Business...
n order to understand the four steps that I believe it takes to
master success you must first be able to define what you believe success
is in your own right mind.
To me, it is the completion of purpose. Meaning, if you have an
'intent' to the mow the grass and you completed it, then that is
success for the action taken place.
Simple right? So, what does success look like in business?
1) What is your "WHY"?
In order to be successful in business, your "Why" must be bigger
than your purpose, problem, agenda, you name it - it must be
everything. If you don't have a "why", then there is no reason to be in
business for yourself - PERIOD. This is the most important step of
all. If you can not get past this step, stop reading this article and
move on with life, until you have your "WHY".
2) ACTION
Once you have developed your why, you must put an action plan in
affect - THEN TAKE IT!
TAKE ACTION.
This means do what you need to do to make your business come alive.
Do what others around you would consider crazy to be doing.
Remember, this is your business and your 'Why', not your friends,
families or anyone else's business. So take it seriously.
(as I am writing this article, I am missing my son's baseball
tournament. That is how BIG my WHY is
for me. Because I know that no matter what, this will enhance my
family and people around me ten fold.)
3) Repeat Development
What do I mean by this statement? Let me ask you this... if you have
finished High School or even College, do you think you have achieved
all the wisdom you need to be successful in life or business today? Heck,
No! College doesn't teach you about life. Paying your bills.
Raising a family, teaching your children from right from wrong. If you
choose not to self educate yourself, whether by reading, going to
seminars, listening to tapes, doing something that will help your
mind-set; you will not grow inside and develop that leadership that is
needed to win in life or in business today.
4) Mastermind Group
OK, this does not mean have a meeting at the local bar or Pub and go
over what your balance sheet looks like. This means to have a separate
group that will hold each member accountable for there own actions for
there business. They are like a silent partner, but they having no
skin in the game, but to see you succeed in life and your business.
This is vital to have. I would recommend that they are not part of your
inner group of friends and that they are in the same line of business
that you are in. This group is so sacred, there will be nothing that
will stand in your way to meet with them at least one time a week.
So, very simple stuff. I am here to tell you it is not the easiest
stuff to accomplish. But I am here to tell you, if you do these things,
you will be successful without any doubt.
