Blogs have been around for a long time now, but it is only recently that they have gained popularity in the last few years or so. Simply put a blog is a way for people to write their thoughts and opinions that then get posted on the web for other people to comment on; a bit like a journal. It is also a good way to build friendships around the world which in turn builds trust, and eventually a business relationship.

A website can take hours to update, but a blog can be updated relevantly easily. There is always someone wanting to post their thoughts and ideas, and of course their offers. They are looking for other blogs with content which is relevant to them and their blogs. This can help them to gain more content on their blog, and in return the owner of the blog they have used gains somewhere that they can post their offers too. So this is a win win situation.

It is important though that you must put your own thoughts and ideas on your blog regularly in order to keep people coming back to you, so that you can build on the relationship that you have with them. It is also important to put comments on other people’s blogs, as this helps to build link backs to your own blog, which in turn helps with your ratings within the search engines.

Of course it is not just about ratings and link backs; it is also about earning a living and making some money at it as well. A good blog will have some offers on it, but it will not be a good idea to blatantly push things at people. Instead it will be gently guiding them by good use of the content on it, and therefore it is better to write and review products from time to time.

Whilst your content should have keywords in it, I don’t think that it is a good idea to overdo it just to get noticed by the search engines. It is much better to not worry too much about keywords, it is better to give your readers something interesting and readable to read, that way it is easier to keep them coming back, and hopefully they will buy from you.

As a blog is usually free to build and it´s a good way to start your own business with only minimal costs, it doesn´t matter if it takes a while to make money, as all it has cost you is your time, and therefore any money that you make from it is pure profit.

I do this type of research but for another niche and I use: Google Blog Search, Technorati Blog Directory and Twitter search. Try to use specific key words. Good luck, I know it's not an easy job.
Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy - Hi David, I agree about the Blogosphere. You have a smaller group that Blog, but do so on the premise that they think they should, but have never really considered the purpose of their Blog. Then I think there are a few SEO or Internet Marketing types that see Blogging as just another link building strategy. But the largest group of Bloggers, tend to be people who enjoy writing and discussing their topics of interest. Blogging is good for link building, but the true Blogger is a breed apart from the rest. They want to dialog, to debate, to have feedback and they are very willing to link to other worthwhile conversations that are relevant to their topic. I agree with you. These group of Bloggers obviously are passionate about their writing and together, they create huge conversation trails interactive and travel from Blog to Blog. But the evidence is clear with this group that loves what they write about. With comments enabled on a Blog and having a Blog tuned to a specific purpose you already have the evidence of original Social Media.

The narrow nature of this target audience search is what's causing the difficulty and why I'm trying to branch into other options. I've suggested some other options to the author and am trying some new things - will see how it works. Shri
Victoria's Secret - Too Sexy? - This will be upsetting for some men. I just heard a report about Victoria's Secret and it was interesting. Their sales were down drastically in the 4th quarter of 2007 and the report was about how they are thinking the company has gotten too far away from the heritage that made it the blockbuster company it is. They are thinking the ads etc have become too sexy and the plan (at the moment) is to make the ads more sophisticated. That would be like the Super Bowl commercial which was very tasteful, but very different from any Victoria's Secret I've seen lately. Who do you all think the current sexy ads are targeting? I think its the men that they hope will buy these items for their female significant others. I hate to give Omarosa any kudos - but most women aren't "sold" on an item by an ad of a near naked sexy woman. Shri
