Success principle: Treat everybody respectfully

One of the key principle of leadership and success is not just to be content with being capable for helping yourself, but by being capable to get others to help you as well. Many people lack in the latter part. As it’s said, the best way to get to the top is not to climb up the ladder; but to let others push you to the top. Now how does one do that? There is one simple principle that you can apply in your life starting today. And that is, ‘Treat everybody you come across as the most important person in your life’. Simple; yet very effective. Let me illustrate. The other day I had to go to a government agency to fill out a particular form. I was supposed to write down the name of a city on the form, which I got all wrong. And I didn’t know it at that particular time. When I got home my wife tells me that the city is different and that I have to go back to the agency again. I was under immense time pressure; so I emailed the guy behind the counter at the agency and told him my situation. He immediately responded saying that he will take care of it at his end and that there is no need to worry. It was a huge relief for me. Later I got to thinking about why this guy helped me. The answer came to me in a flash, and that was because I had treated this guy respectfully. He was the most important person in the world for me at that time, even though I knew for sure that I would never meet him ever again. But because I have developed the habit to treat everyone I meet respectfully, whether it’s a janitor or the president, others help me get to where I want. So the next time you meet with somebody, remember this lesson and apply it. You will see how the world changes for you. Take care and God Bless.

Re: Beautiful business Re: Beautiful business - I agree. The customer service and satisfaction are so important when running a successful business. People know that there is usually somewhere else they can go it they are not treated respectfully and the businesses that don't figure this out from the get go, are the ones that aren't there for long. Being a part of a business that treats their customers fairly and respectfully, makes you feel better about going to work, too. You feel like you've given something back to your community when you work with them positively.
Re: On Which Social Media Sites Are You Most Active? Re: On Which Social Media Sites Are You Most Active? - I must respectfully disagree completely with that premise Evan. When speaking of a "Small Group", we are talking abotu a "Mastermind Group". As we all know, such a group is instrumental to success, online or off. The groups can grow quite large too. My group currently has 35 members, but several are actively participating and sharing content.
