Selling on eBay: 5 Ways to Keep Your Product Line Fresh and Profitable

The competition among work at home businesses on eBay continues to grow. Successful sellers don't have the luxury of sitting back and taking it easy. If you want to make money selling physical products you must strive to keep your product line fresh and unique. A stale product line will kill your sales. Your customers are always looking for what's new and fresh in your store. If they keep coming back to find the "same ole" products over and over again, there's no incentive for them to return.

To keep your product line fresh, make it your business to know what trends are happening in your industry. For example, if you sell lamps, track what people are buying now and what new styles are on the horizon.

Frequent design shows and home décor magazines. Look for new color and style alternatives.

Make sure you know enough about your customers to identify other items they might be interested in and add these products to your offerings. Don't be afraid to think out of the box. It's often the product you think will be a "sleeper" that turns out to be your best selling item.

If you're an independent online seller, your strength is in your ability to source unique products. Products that the big box stores don't sell. The more you know your product line and your customer, the more you'll be able to bring an exciting group of products to a global ecommerce market.

And when you're selling items on eBay from a reputable dropshipper... do you think it's still important to pick a product you're passionate about (like what an entrepreneur would normally do when starting a business)? Or is it just about moving a popular item for profit on eBay?
