1. Create a solid profile – Remember that Facebook is a social networking site and therefore you need to have a personable profile rather than simply a sales pitch. Make your profile interesting so that people want to connect with you, post pictures and videos of you doing what you enjoy the most.

2. Join Facebook Groups – Search for groups that you can identify with and are relevant to your goals. Join these groups and become an active member of them. Post quality content and comments on their wall.

3. Create a Facebook Group – This is straightforward to do and will increase your visibility. Ensure that you research beforehand so you are creating something unique.

4. Become a fan of business pages – Identify pages that are of interest to you and go ahead and ‘like’ them. Write on their walls with comments or links to quality articles.

5. Create a business page – You can set up a business page linked to your personal account for free. In fact you can set up a number of pages detailing your business and key benefits to prospects. Add quality content to your page and invite all your friends to like it.

6. Link other accounts – Link your blog and Twitter to Facebook so your messages and tweets are automatically updated on your wall. This way you will have a steady stream of content added to your wall everyday.

7. Add friends – This goes without saying but you should continue to add contacts that are specifically looking for networking opportunities.

These are a few basic tips to increase your visibility on Facebook, the key benefit is you are more likely to show up in search engine results and be found more easily.
