1. To begin with, if you were to have a store in your neighborhood, you will not have customers if you or nobody is opening the store on time. The same concept applies to a home based business. You need to run it like any other business, starting with showing up every day to work.

2. Before you even begin, you should formulate a plan for time management. You should formulate a list with all of the tasks you need to do each day. Since there is not enough time in one day, to do everything, break everything up in short time frames, according to how many hours you are going to work each day. Time management is one of the most important ans effective tips to running a home business and also sticking to the plan.

3. Once you have your website up and running, you need to start advertising. It takes time to get your ads posted on the free traffic ad exchanges, and to earn the points needed for a reasonable amount of exposure. Starting out small, will help you decide which ad exchanges are working for you and which ones are not. .

4. There are thousands of people promoting the same business opportunity as you are, and using the same web site. You may want to get creative, and develop informational web sites of your own. There are many free websites online which also provide hosting and a domain name for free. You may want to consider the free blog sites, such as those provided by Google and the other major search engines. Then add your blog to the traffic exchanges. 5. One of the most important elements is that of search engine optimization, or SEO. SEO simply refers to getting your website from the bottom of the pile to the top of the page in the search engines. Learning about keywords and how to use them correctly is an absolute must. The use of the wrong keywords actually can do more harm than good. Remember, it takes time, dedication and commitment on a daily basis in order to be successful, no matter what business you chose to do.

I know some women who successfully balances their online business and their roles as wife and mother. It sure is fun to see them work their business like a bonding time for them. I know one that is running a RTW clothing line online... Her husband is a photographer so he takes pictures for their products while their children gladly poses for the camera as a part of their portfolio. Well I guess if you really want to work out a scenario there are a lot of ways.. but if you are not that determined to do so then you can just think of different excuses.
Time spent - I log into this site at least once (sometimes twice) for about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes and that's at least 6 days a week. I work a full time job and also work independently, running a home based business and also assist my husband with his home based business...I also have 2 kids under the age of 14 and one 20 year old, so i'm generally very busy and don't have a ton of time to be here more than that. I believe too much time spent on the internet in general is not healthy and had to cut back on my childrens time online, as one saturday when I was especially busy, I realized they had been on for 6 hours straight! so now I only allow each of them to get 2 hours a day.
Insurance for Home Based Business? - Apparently homeowners insurance and liability insurance may not be enough to cover your at home based business. Especially if you are running the business out of a detached garage or other dwelling on your property. Does anyone have another type of business insurance for their home based business or know anything about this?
