HOW TO AVOID THE BIGGEST MISTAKE

The biggest mistake people make is spending money to buy inventory or investing a lot of time in product creation before knowing IF people will buy the product. That's insane and the perfect way to lose your money.

You have to do your homework to avoid wasting a ton of time and money on products that will lose you money. That's because my approach is to FIRST find out what people want to buy. Then give them the opportunity to buy it from you.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SELLING PRODUCTS

The truth is products are a two a penny. They are everywhere. You can go to a manufacturer and find old discarded moulds and pick them up for royalties. There are people with garages full of products, books, courses and so forth they made but cannot sell.

The truth is products are nothing without the magic ingredient. And what is that ingredient? It is a focused target market with a lead generation software system and conversion process, backed by your unique selling point for your product.

1) You target a group of people with common problems, wants or desires with money and the desire to solve their problem

2) You generate leads. That is, you get potential customers to identify themselves as potential buyers of your products or services. This is called a "lead" in industry terminology. For example, when someone enters their details, that person is a lead or a prospect for you.

3) You convert the leads to buyers. In other words, you give a sales presentation by phone, email, web site, direct mail and so forth to get the person to buy.

Products alone are worthless. Everyone gets all hung up on products but they're worthless without the magic ingredient that creates gold. Having said that, what do you do when you're starting out and you don't have any product to sell at all?

HERE'S MY INSTANT PRODUCT IDEA CREATION METHOD

1) Go to Google and search on the word that best describes your target market. For example, if you sell accounting software to small businesses, search on "small businesses."

2) See all those web sites that appear in the organic listings? Click on a few of them and look at the products they're promoting and selling.

3) Ask yourself if you could create a bigger, better, or superior version. Or what similar products might you be able to find or create. That might be your product right there.

But I was motivated for Internet as my Business, when I read his book "The Road Ahead" in 1995. It was in this book that Gates laid out his vision of an interconnected world built around the Internet. Based on the premise that life will be transformed by the convergence of inexpensive computing and inexpensive communications, Gates drew from his experience at the center of the personal computer revolution to give insights on the growth, evolution and impact of technology. I had always looked up to Bill Gates as my idol. When I read this book, it made me more focussed on Microsoft and Internet, The Internet was one of the upcoming things in this time.
