Writing and Publishing eBooks Made Easy #05 - Interactive eBooks

If you want to have people download your eBook, there are a few rules to follow. The purpose in following these rules is to ensure that you will send out a perfect eBook of high quality.

Of course you already know that your spelling, grammar structure and link relevance should be checked twice to guarantee an excellent product.

eBooks are interactive and can contain live links, graphics, forms, JavaScript, embedded video, can be protected via password, search capabilities and more.

eBooks can be distributed on CD or made available from your web site for instant download, etc. Creating an eBook is just like creating a web site.

Simply create your HTML pages like you would for your web site. Once your eBook pages are written (this can be in .HTML or Word), you need to compose them. Do this just like you create a web site.

Put all your pages and images in one directory on your hard disk, give it the name of your eBook, and make sure that you make a back up copy of them, in case the worst should happen to your PC system.

You wouldn't believe how many people forget to make back ups and are in complete despair when bad luck strikes. Think about all those wasted hours of inspiration and perspiration!

If you design your eBook pages, try to focus on being consistent and informative.

Make it easy for your readers to navigate through your book pages, or they will skip your material. Put navigation links on every book page.

Do not use fancy colours or buttons. Or have you ever seen a newspaper or magazine with orange text on a yellow background? There's no need to revolutionize the way publishing is done with your eBook.

Check and re-check to see if all the hyperlinks or forms work, and if all the images show up correctly. An often made mistake in eBooks is not linking the images or banners to the right file or URL.

Try to limit the use of images, because they take up a lot of space, and your eBook should not be too large to download. Put your ad banners (if you use any) at the bottom of your book pages.

Remember, never distract your readers!

Once this is done, you can create an opening page. This page shows up first when your eBook gets opened. Place your eBook title on this page, and make a clickable index of all the different pages or chapters.

Now that all the pages and images are properly linked, you're ready to convert your book pages into eBook format.

Re: Niche Marketing for success Re: Niche Marketing for success - Hi GT - This year I am focusing on health related information and products. I've been a student of internet marketing for several years now and I have applied quite a few strategies to my own websites, all related to rug making and training. In doing this I have seen very good results. I've decided that it's time to devote more energy to other pursuits. So this year it's health related, specifically alternative treatment strategies for cancer, diabetes, heart disease etc... We're teaming up with an expert in the field as we produce info products on these diseases. My challenge: I need to understand the structure of how this is going to come together. This is the plan so far: [i:3fmss38r]- ebooks or reports? average 100-200pgs - Avg cost 15.00-25.00 for books or 7.00 for reports? - Goal is to produce 10 ebooks or reports in 2009 - Sell eBooks through click bank accts - Article Marketing - 10 articles per book / report... Maybe more? - Affiliate program participation selling other products? - Physical products - there are about 30 - Life Plan - continuity program in place - Cross selling strategy in place - Social marketing strategy - Blog - Am I missing something here? [/i:3fmss38r] As each ebook is produced it will have a 4pg minisite. Each site gathers subscriber emails. Question - Is there an easy way to funnel all subscribers from all mini-sites into one main database for larger broadcast emails? ..
Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers - When I came back to Japan in 1999 I sometimes used to ask my students if they would buy anything on the Internet and at that time most thought it was too risky. I'd encourage them to try by using well known sites such as Amazon.co.jp and also pointed out that using a credit card on a reputable site was safer than using it at a restaurant. I can't remember the last time I had that discussion or when the "tipping point" occurred in Japan. To answer your other question, I use Paypal for several reasons: 1. Brand familiarity 2. Easy to use 3. Free to withdraw 50,000yen+ to my Japanese bank account - a huge benefit (but maybe other systems also offer that...?) 4. Easy to cancel subscriptions On the down side, their transaction fees are quite costly, they are difficult to contact and when disputes arise you can sometimes lose even when you can prove via your tracking service that the disputed item was "delivered" to the customer's address!
Re: Domain name sugestion Re: Domain name sugestion - Hi Anelly, Support-Box.com sounds very good to me. Easy and catchy.
