Become An Effective Communicator And Build Your Home Business

There are few born effective communicators most of us have to work hard on developing our communication skills, but focusing on this one skill will totally change the way you promote your home business. People are generally very self-centered although we have every intention of being selfless unfortunately self-centeredness is always predominant. We tend to talk about ourselves more than taking an interest in other peoples’ situations and problems and this is a major problem in communication.

The first thing NOT to do when offering your business opportunity to a prospective client is rave on about how wonderful your business is and how the prospect can make $10,000 per month from month two. This is true salesman chat and is a mistake 95% of home business owners make. You will have a very disillusioned person if they don’t make that sort of income and worse than that they will more than likely spread the word.

Share compelling stories and experiences that you have had and always be truthful. People respond to real experiences not myths and hype and spare the use of home business jargin like upline, downline or residual income use simple language. People love talking about themselves so ask questions, wait for their answer than ask another one and never interrupt them just so you can get your sales pitch in there!

Research shows that we think six times the rate we speak, read or listen so don’t ramble on for half an hour because you will lose your audience to another thought. The average person’s attention span is getting shorter and receives more than 5,000 messages per day so don’t put their mind into overload mode!

If your MLM home business requires you to do face-to-face meetings be sure to dress for the occasion. Before you even open your mouth your audience has already sized you up and decided how credible you are. Maintaining eye contact when presenting your opportunity will not only reassure and flatter your audience but it also allows you to see if and when your listener has wandered off to another thought and if this does happen change your pace or ask a question to regain their interest.

Effective communication skills are fundamental to the success of your business so if you are lacking confidence, have problems with the technical aspects of communication get some help. There are many organisations that offer excellent courses and in-depth training on all aspects of communication for building your home business. Remember effective communication builds trust and lifelong relationships with your prospects and clients who will be loyal to you and who will want to join you in any of your home business opportunities.

Hi I'm Debra and although I have been in this industry for nearly 5 years now, it's really over the last year that my business has allowed me to move from Australia back to one of my beloved places in the world, Tuscany, Italy. I am a mother of 3 incredible kids who I love to spend quality time with and now I actually do work around my kids activities. I adore food and my husband and I love to experiment with our own recipes in the kitchen. I am totally hooked on sailing and we travel when-ever it's possible. I work my business from home, the beach or while sailing around the Mediterranean. My passion is helping others to believe they are special and inspiring them to be the best they can be, so they have a happy and fulfilling life.

Re: Great start, but no finish Re: Great start, but no finish - My advise is FOCUS on your business. Focusing is the main factor to succeed on business. If you have a great idea, then follow it only, don't look anywhere else. It is especially essential in an online business. Because there are a lot of mind blowing sales letters promising millions dolllars or overnight success, people find it difficult to concentrate on one business and they lose their energy. Concept is simple. 1- Have a good idea; 2- Build your business on it; 3- Monetize your business; 4- Promote it; 5- Build list of responsive customers; 6- Maintain You Business. Focusing and not fearing from competition (instead you can learn from competitiors) are main tips of billionaires ,BTW. Orxan
Re: How do you budget your life? Re: How do you budget your life? - Here is my financial management categories for today: 15% Long Term Savings; 10% Home Expenses; 45% Business and Marketing charges; 10% Friends (Meeting); 20$ Scientific and Law Books. But this will change when it is August or September. Orxan

But how do you know if you truly have a good idea or not? If we ask ourselves, we may be suffering from tunnel vision. On the other hand, friends/family may try to discourage us from pursuing a small business because of their own fears, while others will simply give us an empty "you can do it!" line.
Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need.
