Consistency is Key

One of the most powerful methods of maintaining forward momentum in business, or just life in general, is by applying consistent pressure toward achieving the goals that you've set out in front of yourself. It is life's own version of compound interest, and by utilizing it, you can experience some powerful growth in whichever areas you apply it to.

No matter what types of goals you've set for yourself, by utilizing the effective power of consistency, you are much more likely to achieve them. By taking steps each and every day that bring you closer to those goals, you'll be developing a habit, which will go a long way toward furthering your progress. A bodybuilder looks the way he does, because of his habit of going to the gym on a daily basis, and it is that consistency that allows him to maintain his forward momentum in his situation. The same can be said of almost any worthy goal.

Often people try to use little bursts of effort in the application of methods needed to bring them closer to their goals, however these efforts are generally short lived, and when they're over forward progress comes to standstill. Using our last example of the bodybuilder, imagine a blitz of effort over 30 days where he goes all in, and burns himself out. Chances are that any progress he's made will quickly be lost once he stops his frantic efforts. Rather than going 6 hours a day for 30 days, he'd be much better off, going for one hour a day, and developing it into a consistent habit, that he continues on a daily basis.

The same principle applies to business, it is much better to take just three steps forward each day toward accomplishing your goals, than to work 18 hours a day and take 50 steps but soon stop, because you've run out of energy, or ambition. Much better to implement the steps into your daily routine, where after a month or so, they will simply become part of your day, and in time, you'll not only achieve those goals you set out to conquer, but you'll need to expand them to accommodate your new found growth.

Consistency is only one part of the recipe for success, but by adding as many success "secrets" into your routine, you'll stand a much better chance of reaching each one of your goals. The added confidence that you feel after each of these accomplishments, will only make the next one seem even easier!

Anything Will Do.. Anything Will Do.. - ...well, not quite anything. Personally, I like to see metappletonhors in my daily work and link what I experience to the blog topic. For example, I have a management blog. In it I might write about how today when I was out walking, I saw grass that had spilt our across the pavement where it hadn't been looked after. My link then is to how things can get out of control in a business you manage when you take you eye off things for a while - then it becomes a big job. Then I spin a bit more out of that. If I wanted to be very business focused, I would sign up to some specific RSS feeds inbound, using something like Feedreader to send me pressreleases, other people's news so that I don't have to hunt for it etc. Consistency of posting and varied, interesting thought provoking posts are what keeps a blog alive. Years ago I was so proud to say that I could 'sell' to anyone in any industry. Over time I realized that certain industries were much more lucrative in terms of commissions and order quantity. I think the same idea definitely exists in internet advertising - if you are looking to one or two single sources of online marketing, you aren't seeing the whole picture. Keep with it, and try and make some kind of consistant effort.[/quote:1g6hv9hl] Yes, that's the best approach. While it's important to learn and understand one strategy at a time, it's also just important to broaden your efforts. Let's face it, we can't all be masters at any one strategy. It's best to diversify and make the most of our marketing efforts and reach the widest range of people as possible. Consistency is the key. Keep at it everyday, and you'll see results.

If you try too many things at once you will end up getting nowhere with any one of them. A nice balance is key.
