#59 The Success of Your Internet Marketing Website
The success of your Internet marketing website depends on
how much control you have over the whole process. After all, this website or
storefront is the lifeblood that affects your lifestyle and whether or not you
will be having steaks or bologna sandwiches for dinner.
You should be in control of the website and have access to
all files like pictures and company logos in case you need to change it and
your designer is unavailable. You also need control of the web page design or
at least know how to get in and make necessary changes and/or up dates to the
website.
Every page on the Internet needs a “homefront” or better yet
called a hosting company. This is actually where all of the files are kept for
each website on the Internet. There are several to choose from so just make
sure your login and password is the only one that can access the information.
And just in case the company folds, make sure you have backup files of all the
data. So if you had to move your website to another hosting company, you won’t
have to design any part of the website from scratch. You also need to control
all the passwords for your domain name registrar, (the company where you
registered your domain name).
Other passwords and login information you need to be in
control of includes every place you have content about your website. Youtube
for example may hold all your instructional videos and you will need to have
access to the account to obtain the videos when needed. And what about your
google adwords account, where you control how much you spend on your campaigns
daily and whether or not you will continue to use google adwords if there is no
return on investment. (ROI) Don’t
forget if you outsource any part of your website design or content, that you
make sure you get backup copies of all the files you paid for.
When you become in control of every aspect of the setting up
process and adding content, then you can feel confident in quickly resuming
your webpage in the event of a system crash. The next few steps in this process
will be explained in future articles but I will briefly go over what they are
now. Once you have your website up, naturally you would want to put in goods
and services and products that your customers are looking for. As far as the
next step; you will need to research competition, have a way for people to
purchase products and a way to deliver the products. Other factors in this
process would include how to keep your customers once they trust to buy from you,
and how to gain more customers by the boatloads so you will never run out of
money for your business. You must have boatloads of customers and leads coming
in because if you are out of leads you are out of business. And that is the
process of a successful Internet marketing website. May God Bless and keep you

Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory.
Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing.
I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.

Internet Marketing Conference on SLife
- I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways..
a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak.
Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc..
Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL.
There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.

Welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here and thank you for telling us a little about yourself. You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great.
Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way,

- Hi Kevin,
I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
