Did you know that 95% of businesses fail in the first one to three years? Did you know that the number of people looking to start their own home based business do not have the necessary skills to do the job so they “wing it”? Do you know what to look for when you search for these home based business opportunities? Of all the junk that’s out there, how do you know what business opportunity is legit? I just got through reading, “Before You Quit Your Job” by Robert T. Kiyosaki and Mr. Kiyosaki mentions the B-I Triangle, which shows what all successful businesses need to survive. At the bottom of the triangle he puts ‘Mission’ as the most important for the foundation of the business. Your mission is your why. Why are you in business? How is this going to contribute well in the world and help the economy better? When you choose a home business opportunity check their mission statement. It tells a lot about the company and what they stand for, and if you are in agreement with their vision, then you can go on to the next step in the triangle. Otherwise, it will be best to move on because if you don’t agree, then you will not be passionate about moving forward with company and you will lose interest. Mr. Kiyosaki, puts the next important thing for a successful business to have is ‘Cash Flow’. Because you need a way to fund your business you need to have a positive Cash Flow. ‘Communications’ is next then ‘Systems’. You must have a great system in place so all members of your team can follow it easily no matter what level of experience they have. Then next on the triangle is ‘Legal’, then ‘Product’. Notice the product is last on the triangle? It is not as important than the Missions’ statement, because if you believe in the company and its vision, the product is easier to sell no matter what it is. But having a product that makes sense is best. You don’t go into a McDonalds and expect to get a hairdryer when they advertise hamburgers do you? You get my point. I recommend reading this book for full details before you look for that next big home business opportunity. It will help you cut through the crap that is out there.
