Article #37 How To Do Simple Search Engine Optimization
The key in simple search engine optimization or SEO as it
is called, is none other than choosing the right keywords. The easiest way to
explain how to do this is, you have to know what your potential customers would
type ‘specifically’ into the search engines that associate with your product or
service. For example, instead of ‘horse’ they would type in ‘stallion’, because
‘horse’ is such a broad term. Take a look at your website and pick out key words,
then put those keywords into Google for variations of that keyword which are
relevant.
After you find your keywords, put
those in titles and first paragraphs throughout your adcopy. Don’t forget to
put the links to all your pages right on the main page of your site as search
engines cannot fill out forms to move through your site. Ironic huh? Off those links make sure the other pages
have a few links too because search engines love diversification. The idea is to
make it easy for visitors to find what they need for the keyword they typed
into search. Get it? Good.
Make sure the pages are easy to
follow and keep your customers happy. Visitors are happy if you have ‘like’
topics grouped together instead of spread out all over. For example, shoes and
slippers under the topic Footwear. You get the idea. The site must be easy to
read, flowing and making perfect sense. If you skip around in your wording,
your visitors will skip out and go to another website altogether. So keep it a
simple read.
So, if your visitors are happy
and your site is one that they keep coming back for, then the search engines
will rank you. First according to relevancy to your keyword and second for
popularity, (i.e. links). Good luck and God Bless.

- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) could be compared to a big popularity contest:
A High School Computer Geek and a High School Football Captain who are trying to promote a party.
The computer geek tells everyone in school & even hands out 100's of flyers about his party Friday night...what happens? his friends end up showing up and a few new people...even the new people leave right away because it is not what they are looking for.
The High School Football Captain ends up just telling a few good buddies, and within hours the entire school not only knows about it, but everyone wants to come, and everyone does come & stay.
One defenition of "optimize is "To make as perfect or effective as possibe." How effective are your article marketing campaigns? Could you be distributing content (that is what search engines index) more effectively? In a perfect world, who would you want promoting your website, web pages, and web content?
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is determining this perfect & effective way to do this.
