Article #7 Bill Collectors Calling Your House? Your Work? Your Friends?

We can stop the calls and harassment by living from abundance and not poverty. How do we do that, you ask? The answer will unfold within this article but first let me tell you a story. A friend of mine was a successful realtor who had a beautiful wife and three teenage boys. They were living the American dream with a house, three cars and even a boat for deep-sea fishing. Then my friend got sick and had to work part-time. His wife already had a part-time job but had to get another to pay for the bills that were starting to pile up. One of their boys was graduating and they just purchased a car for him so he can use it in college. They were keeping up or so I thought until I got a phone call from one of his creditors. They wanted to know how to reach him since they haven’t received payment in a couple of months. I went to my friend and told him about the call and asked if there was anything I could do for him. He said he didn’t know if he would be able to work any longer and bill collectors were calling his house and work, and now they start calling friends.

To my friend, who is a proud man, this was an embarrassment. He told me they couldn’t send their son to college and had to give back the car they bought for him. He now has a part-time job to help pay the household bills. The other two boys were still too young to get a job yet. As we were talking, it occurred to me what my friend could do. I had recently read a book called the Travelers’ Gift by Andy Andrews and it showed me how the main character overcame desperation to put his life back in order. And how we can actually choose to be happy. The book explains the seven decisions you make in life about your home, work, etc. The main character actually learns a lot traveling through time and talking with famous people who changed their life and/or made a difference in the world. I suggested the book to my friend and today all three of his sons are in college. My friend is financially free and he is on his second honeymoon with his wife enjoying life all because he chose to change his thinking. So, check out these seven principles in Travelers’ Gift and apply them to your life today.

Re: Time to get rich in real estate? - House prices, like a lot of the economy in Japan, have been pretty stagnant. Hiroshima is no exception, at least on the secondary market; Apartment in new apartment blocks are more attractive to people who buy for residential purposes.
