It really helps to think of all the things that you need to do during the day and writing them all down on a notebook or planner. This will help you keep track of the tasks you plan to complete before the day ends.

Avoid wasting time

You will be amazed in the way in which you end up wasting time. Observe yourself for a few days and make a note of the things that you do to waste your time. It could be looking for an important file that you always misplace. Keep a fixed locker or drawer where you keep your important documents, and maintain it. This way you will never misplace important documents and instantly find them when they are most needed.

Organize your home and workplace

It is truly rewarding to organize your home and workplace. Keeping things neat and efficient will help you concentrate better in whatever you do.

Planning your work throughout the week

Choose one day in the week to clean your house, another day to do grocery shopping, and so on. This way you devote one day each for an important task. This also helps to reduce the pressure of doing everything in one day. As a work at home mom there is only so much that you can do and keeping one day for one task is the best way to go about it.

Maintain notes to remind yourself of important things

Work at home moms get so caught up with their busy schedules that many times they forget where they keep their notes. One of the best places to keep your reminder notes is next to the telephone. That way whenever you go near the phone you will be reminded of the important thing you were suppose to do.

Complete all your projects

When you start out on a particular task or project, make sure that you follow it to the end. Many times work at home moms start doing something with great energy and vigor but then by the time they get busy with other things they lose interest or even forget about the task. The best way to avoid this is to finish with your task once you start doing it; even if you are interrupted in between, keep yourself mentally prepared to get back to it as soon as possible.

Sharing household work

This is one of the best tips for work at home moms looking at saving time. Many work at home moms hesitate to share their work with friends and family. It's highly rewarding to share your work with your spouse, children and sometimes neighbors as it helps to greatly cut down on your stress. There is nothing wrong in asking a friendly neighbor to babysit for you while you go grocery shopping or asking your spouse to take care of the laundry while you go about making that important call to a client.

Once you learn how to efficiently manage your time and organize your home, you will find that being a work at home mom is after all an enjoyable and rewarding lifestyle.
