There are a lot of scams and frauds that aim to cheat you of your valuable time and money. Be careful when choosing online clients or direct sale packages as they could lead to a lot of heartbreak. One good way to ensure that you stay safe is to do in-depth research on the company or individual you wish to do business with. After all it's your time, energy and money that is at stake- make sure that you don't get exploited.

Looking for support

As enjoyable and challenging it is to work from home, things could also get lonely for you every once in a while. If you have been used to working in a busy office environment, you will surely miss having people around. One way to beat the monotony of working alone is to interact with like-minded people and get their support. You could either join online communities or get together with a few other work at home moms to share your notes and ideas. This will keep you inspired and motivated as you work towards a successful home business.

Stop thinking and start acting

The main reason why most moms are hesitant to let go of their regular jobs is the fear of failing as a work at home mom. Some women go on thinking of quitting their jobs and starting a home based business, however it never turns into reality. If you are really interested to start an independent home business, the best thing to do is to stop thinking and start acting. Having confidence in your business ideas will help you achieve your goals.

Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need. Jeff
Re: How do you make the most of your day? - Planning, To Do lists, and deadlines all help me. Also being self critical of my own time management helps me raise the bar. I still check email too often though.
