Time management for work at home moms with babies

For those work at home moms with toddlers or babies, things could get really hectic. Babies demand constant attention, and it could get difficult for you to find free time for your work. One great tip for work at home moms with babies is to get their little ones busy with an activity that they can enjoy on their own. It could be beating a drum, looking at a colorful picture or playing with a toy. It's also a great idea to keep your baby close to your working desk so that you can keep an eye on your child as you go about your work.

Don't overburden yourself

An important tip for work at home moms is to only take up as much work as it is possible to handle. Don't pressurize yourself to do more than you can handle as it will only lead to stress and exhaustion. Spending time with your family is important to you- one of the main reasons why you opted to be a work at home mom. If you end up investing all your time working from home, it would make no sense to stay at home. Another great tip is to work for yourself on your home based business; this way you will not have to meet deadlines or put in hours of work for somebody else's business.

Taking care of yourself

It is absolutely important for work at home moms to take care of themselves. Always make sure that you give enough time in the day for yourself. You could either take a walk or visit your favorite café for a refreshing drink. In the midst of your busy work schedule, make sure that you are nice to yourself and reward yourself for every small goal that you achieve.

Sharing your work and asking for help

Work at home moms could do with a little help every once in a while. It could either be requesting your neighbor to babysit for a few hours while you go and buy some research material for your home business. You could also ask your family members to help you out with the housework. This way you will not feel overburdened with work and live a more fulfilling life. Being a work at home does not mean that you need to do everything yourself.

Exercise and stay healthy

Your health is your most valuable asset and must be given first priority. Without good health you cannot take care of your family or work on your home business. Make it a point to indulge in some form of physical activity every day. It could be a short, brisk walk or a light aerobics exercise. Exercising helps to release unwanted toxins from your body, keeping you mentally alert, emotionally healthy and physically fit.

At times it might seem difficult to find a balance between family life and work commitments. With the right time management skills and organization, you will definitely enjoy being a work at home mom.

Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need.
