How to Win Friends and Influence People, by Dale Carnegie - Book Review

You are probably reading this article because you have heard about Dale Carnegie's book or someone recommended it and you are not sure you should read it?

You may be thinking, what the hype is about and if reading this book will change your life and your perspective about people? You may be wondering what differentiates this book from other books in its genre.

I can only hope that my review of; How to Win Friends & Influence People (Revised Edition) will help you make an informed decision.

The book is a classic because the contents are relevant today as they were in 1937. It is about 276 pages long. The book is about relationships, the art of getting along with people in everyday business and social contacts.

Reading this book will teach you fundamental techniques in handling people. Principles like; don't criticize, condemn or complain and how to give honest and sincere appreciation. You will discover how to become genuinely interested in other people and how to interest people. You will learn how to make people like you instantly. Which are attributes of a great personality?

Dale Carnegie was an excellent trainer. In this book, you will feel like he takes you by the hand and shows you how to deal with people, especially if you want to succeed in business or in other areas of your life. This book will become like an old trusted friend. You will refer to it often and even recommend it to others.

Most books in its genre talk about branding yourself by being the expert and placing your needs before the needs of others. How to Win Friends & Influence People shows you how to become a brand people will like and admire by taking a genuine interest in people not for any material gain.

I recommend this book because it reminds us that the seemingly unimportant things can make a world of difference to others. Things like the power of a smile and the importance of remembering someone's name. These principles may seem common; however, we neglect to apply them when dealing with one another.
