1. Website optimization also known as search engine optimization – When you have a website, you have to use website optimization to ensure that it will be noticed by Google. It is important to ensure that your website has been optimized using your main keywords so that the search engines will pick up your site for these.

The search engine will spider your site looking for keywords, so that they know where to place your site in their search results. If your site is not optimized for the search engines, then getting good rankings with Google will not be easy to do.



2. Back links to your site – Google is looking for links from other sites that point back to yours. You need to spend some time building as many back links as you are able to.

The more backlinks you have pointing to your site, the higher your Google ranking will become.



3. Add a blog – Do you have a blog added on your website? If you don’t, then you need to get one added right away. If you do have one already, then you need to take advantage of that and start using it to help you increase your rankings.

Google likes blogs because they are updated with fresh content more often. If you have a blog on your website that you update on a regular basis using quality content that uses your keywords, then you will be able to easily increase your rankings.

4. Informational and keyword rich content – The content that is added, not only to your blog, but also to your website needs to be informational and keyword rich. The keywords are important so that Google knows where you place you in their results.

The informational content is important because Google will not place any site in their search results that puts out junk that will not help anyone. So, you need to be sure that the content used on your site is informational and uses your keywords correctly because this will be noticed by this big search engine.

These are the best ways you can use to help you improve your Google ranking. Now that you have this important information in mind, my Google ranking and getting it higher will be much easier for you.

Well done Mal that is a tremendous improvement, just keep on doing what you have been doing but really don't worry too much about the AR, it just nice as a way to keep us on track. David I had the same problem with Alexa and Google, who knows why they do what they do either we are in favor or not but I just keep on and hope for the best. MichelleJ
How Do You Check Google Ranking? - Now that Google is so responsive to your own search history, how can you get a good idea of what your Google ranking really is for your web pages? Whenever I check my ranking for specific keywords on Google, my web pages appear on the front page, or suspiciously high. My way around this is to check Google ranking via other computer Internet links, i.e., whenever I'm working in a library I will use a library computer to check. I check Google ranking before logging into my Gmail or other Google-related accounts. Does anybody else have any other tips for discovering your Google ranking? Nowadays, I check Bing.com for my webpage ranking as it gives a much less favourable (and so, I guess, "truer") ranking for my webpages than Google does...

Google has some amazing tools that can help website owners track everything. From Google Adsense reporting to Google Analytic to Google Conversion and most recently Google Goal Tracking. Between all of those tools a website owner should know exactly what type of traffic is converting & making them money and what type of traffic is not. I even use Google PPC to estimate organic search engine traffic! Website owners would do well to follow your lead and create a base, and then test off that base in regards to advertising. Jeff
