Writing lots of high quality articles and submitting them to the largest article directories can be a great way to get backlinks. If you have quality articles, they will be seen by many eyes and this is great advertising. If your articles are really popular they might be used by publishers on other sites and this can get you even more attention.

Get involved in as many forums as possible and make sure that your link is included with your signature. Forums get updated all of the time and search engines love this type of content. Post as often as you like in this forum and you can make new friends and also gain information from a forum that ties in with your niche.

With so many popular blogs out there, add a comment and include your link. This is very simple and does not take a lot of time. Look for up and coming blogs and be one of the first to notice and make posts and this can create nice traffic flow to your site later.

Use more than one keyword when you are creating your backlinks. Sticking with just one keyword will not allow you to grow outside your box. If you want to reach an even larger target base, you should expand your keywords and use several rather than just one.

Anchor text is the text that is hyperlinked to a web page, or the text that is "clickable." Anchor text is vital because it is what determines what pages get ranked high depending on the number of occurrences there are for those pages.
