The way I'm specifically talking about is article marketing. If you do not know how to write articles to promote your business you can outsource those for a very reasonable prices.

Here's what you should be doing to get the most mileage out of an article to generate traffic from it.

1. Think in terms of volume of articles. One article is not going to make a dent in the World Wide Web. You should think in terms of writing 10 to 20 articles per day.

These should be written on a variety of targeted keywords relating to the theme of your website. You should also have a good resource box that people will want to click on the link you provide them so they can find out more information about you.

2. Use a submission service to reach more article directories. This serves 2 primary purposes.

One is to get your articles in front of as many readers as possible.This will drive immediate traffic to your website and allow you to make more sales.

The second thing is to have your articles serve as search engine bait. These articles can rank well on the search engines, or can create backlinks to your website when you hyperlink that keyword phrase in your resource box.

Therefore you want your articles in as many directories as possible.

3. Add your articles to your blogs. This is a good way to keep fresh content coming into your blog consistently.

You should take the additional step of bookmarking your blog articles using a service such as Onlywire.com. They will create links for your blog articles in directories such as Digg and Strumbelupon. These can be search engine bait as well as drive traffic directly to your blog.

4. For less than $20 a month you can set up an autoresponder and capture your visitor's contact information. Set up a lead capture form on every web page and blog posts that you make.

As you begin to build a list you can re-generate traffic back to your website with the click of one email. This makes email marketing a part of the cheapest way to generate traffic to your website from article marketing!
