A legitimate work from home business certainly does require you to do a handful of things correctly. If you're not doing those then maybe these are still secrets to you. 1. Go where money is being spent. Today work from home business opportunities allow you to make money in various niches.

If you are fortunate you can combine a hobby or a passion with products in a niche where people are currently spending money. The good news is there are thousands of these available online and you can get your share of the profit if you are working in the right ones.

2. Build an email list. Even content websites that concentrate primarily on Google Adsense as their main income stream should still be building an email list.

Being able to follow up with your website visitors in the future gives you a big advantage in your business. It also gives you a way to generate money with the click of a button. As you promote products to people they will buy when they get used to hearing from you.

3. Add a blog. Search engines love blogs because they provide fresh content to their readers.

This gives you a good source of building a list and making sales, as well as branding yourself as an expert on the niche your work from home business is in.

4. Throw in paid advertising. Google Adwords and Yahoo Marketing are two of the best ppc advertising strategies on the Internet.

However, there are many other forms of paid advertising that can work well for you. This may take some trial and error on your part, but paid advertising on a consistent basis is something you do not want to eliminate from your marketing mix.

5. Do not put all of your eggs in one basket. Simply put, if you can make a little bit of money on one website think how much more you could make if you had numerous websites.

Did you know there are Internet marketers that have several hundred websites going at one time? Some ambitious Internet business owners even have thousands of blogs generating them a little bit of money every day.

It is a good strategy to work more than one business opportunity at a time. It's also a good strategy to develop income in multiple ways. This way you always have money coming in if one income stream starts to dry up.

These are all proven tactics you can take to build a legitimate work from home business. Hopefully these are no longer secrets to you now!

The Best Business Books Ever: The 100 Most Influential Business Books You'll Never Have Time to Read - this is a fascinating book about the history of Business theory, and I'd recommend it to anybody. 2. The Big Book of Small Business: You Don't Have to Run Your Business by the Seat of Your Pants, by Tom Gegax. Ditto. 3. PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
