A new business model for online advertising called Team Promote
|
| Guest post by: Philippe Moisan |
Article Overview: Advertising online is more and more challenging. Many online marketers like to be paid for their efforts. Google's AdSense is the most widely known way of being paid for advertising. You put AdSense ads on your website, and you get paid when visitors click on the ads. One other method is Paid To Click sites, but that industry is full of horror stories. There's affiliate marketing, of course. However, good affiliates are not easy to find. A new business model has arrived. It's based on getting people to click on a landing page, and be paid for each of those clicks. APSense came up with a new service called Team Promote built on this innovative approach to marketing. APSense is a business social network, well known by online marketers.

A new business model for online advertising called Team Promote
This article won't talk about every online advertising business model.
It will describe the popular ones that many online marketers use to make money
whether or not there is a sale of the product or service described in the ad.
Advertisers are always on the lookout for new ways to promote a product or
service. To close the sale, the most important factor is to find places online
where the targeted audience is active.
Let's look at other factors that can help get a better ROI:
- Having ads on sites with good SEO helps tremendously.
- Costs vs benefits is high on the list of priorities.
- If you can get a team of people to place ads instead of doing it yourself.
- If the team members are not part of the sales force of your company, you get the advantage of combining your resources to theirs.
- The sales commission must be higher and higher.
- If you give a cash reward to the team members, even if there are no sales during a campaign, and the cash reward is proportional to their efforts, you'll get a highly motivated team.
Let's take a look at business models that use some or all of these factors.
The Google Adwords-Adsense Pay Per Click (PPC) business model
Years ago, Google created what is now considered the biggest ad network in the world, with AdWords and AdSense. Launching a campaign with AdWords is an art. A lot of trial and error will be needed. The cost per click keeps climbing. For popular keywords, it's out of reach of most small businesses.
If you are an advertiser, you trust that your ad will be placed on targeted sites. You have no control over the price per click, so you have no idea how many clicks there will be before your budget is spent.
If you put AdSense ads on your site, it's up to you to get traffic, and you hope that people will click on the ads. The money you earn per click is not much in most cases.
Even if you find a niche where you get success, and for example you work as a distributor for a MLM company, you will find you might have a hard time convincing the people in your downline to use AdWords, because many of them will have heard that people lose their shirt with AdWords.
Paid To Click (PTC)
An advertiser will buy packages of clicks for their ads. The clicks are guaranteed, but these are clicks to see the landing page, not clicks on the order button, same ad AdSense, as a matter of fact. You also get clicks from people not members of the PTC site. These clicks are free.
Members of PTC sites will click on your ads to get paid fractions of cents. Some of the advertiser's money go to the site owner, the rest goes to the members clicking the ads.
On most PTC sites, you can choose that your ad be seen only by paid members. This helps conversions, since these members are buyers. What is the percentage of paid members on PTC sites? Hard to tell.
How targeted is advertising on PTC sites? Well, you have the option of geotargeting, just like with AdWords. But on PTC sites, members see the same ads repeatedly, and they will click to get the money, they won't look at an ad they have clicked on many times.
Affiliate marketing
You can decide to have other people sell your product and pay them a commission. Nowadays, the percentage is often 50% or higher. These affiliates will place ads in every place imaginable. Competition is very high in that field, and since the only way to make money is to sell the product or service, it's hard to keep affiliates active at promoting it. Many will put their efforts on the new product launches, and so your sales decrease very fast, unless your product is exceptional or you get the support of highly successful affiliates.
The Team Promote business model
At Team Promote, you get advertisers who create campaigns. When they activate a campaign, they pay a fee. That money is used for 2 things:
- 30% goes to Team Promote.
- 70% becomes a cash reward to share between promoters who get clicks on the advertiser's order button on the landing page.
What the advertiser gets is motivated promoters on his list. Their resources include:
- Their network of contacts.
- The places where they advertise, such as social networks, classified ads, forums, traffic exchanges, etc...
Other business models
There are other places where you can advertise:
- Traffic Exchanges (TEs)
- Safelists
- Text Ad Exchanges (TAEs)
- Social Networks
- Other PPC networks
- Classified ads
Conclusion
You can see how different and exciting Team Promote is, both for advertisers and promoters. There are clear advantages to be a part of it, compared to anything else out there.
