Fight Food Cravings with these 6 Craving Killer Tips
Give Yourself 10 Minutes
You probably are not even that hungry but you are craving something. If you give yourself 10 minutes, usually the craving goes away. If the craving is still there and you cannot fight it then go ahead and have a bite of what you were craving.
This does NOT mean you can have the whole bag of chips!! If you are the type that if you start something you can’t stop then be careful when you give into cravings. Think of how you will feel after you eat what you wanted to eat. If it leaves you with a bad feeling then avoid italtogether.
Drink Water
A lot of the times our bodies are thirsty and we may mistake it for hunger. Make sure you stick to drinking water daily and when you get a craving, have another glass of water to keep your tummy at bay. FYI Tea is also a great sweet way to feel fuller.
Write Something
Sometimes looking at your food journal will help you remember your goals and keep you on track. Keep a food diary or a blog if you like writing. The subject doesn’t even have to be about food. If you allow yourself to be distracted from a craving then you’ll forget all about it.
Clean the House
There is always something to be cleaned around the house. If you are craving something then try cleaning your toilet or the bathroom. These places, rubber gloves, soap and dust might help you kill your food craving urges.
Brush Your Teeth
This really helps me avoid snacking late at night. I don’t want to brush my teeth twice so if I’m craving some popcorn as a midnight snack I will brush my teeth and then forget all about it.
Walk the Dog
Walking the dog is good for both you and the dog! Instead of sitting at your computer eating a snack get out of the house and get some fresh air. FYI A 20 minute walk can help you brun 80 calories!
Now that you know how to fight your food cravings the hard part is up to you! It is all about mind over matter. Try at least 2 of the tips above and if all else fails give in to the craving today but not tomorrow!
