With these forum marketing techniques your name will be all over Google. Using forum marketing is a great way to build your brand quickly, get great backlinks and even generate some quick and free leads. Branding:

Forums are not just another place you can use to spam your links. You must create valuable content and be honest and trustworthy in order to receive quality leads and backlinks.

Sign up for a forum that is related to your niche. Make sure you fill out your bio and profile page and include a great picture. In your signature section add a link that points to your blog, landing page or a free resource. Start browsing through current questions until you find one that you can answer.

Try to answer at least 3 questions each day. If you answer 3 questions, your signature will show up under your answers which will give you 3 backlinks. If you answer 1000 questions from a popular forum, imagine where your site could rank on Google with all of those backlinks.

When someone Google's your name or your website, your sites could show up on page one because of your active contribution and backlinks through the forum.

Keywords Matter:

Have you ever searched for a question online and found the answer from a forum? For specific niches and questions, forum answers rank high in search engines.

In order to get yourself ranked through a forum in the search engines, try to answer some keyword loaded questions. You could even ask your own keyword loaded question and then answer it yourself.

Advertising:

Forum sites usually show the stats of the highest contributors and they get rankings based on the quality and quantity of their answers. You can approach these high ranking contributors and ask them to partner up with you. There are 2 ways to do this.

You can ask them to put your link in their signature for a certain amount of money each month.

You can ask them to put your link in their signature for a cut of the commission when one of your products is sold.

Try not to do a joint venture until you have established your brand on the forum site and have at least 100 answers.

Forum Marketing Yahoo Answers (I need to use more of) SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Bum Marketing or Article marketing P-P-C (Pay Per Click) Marketing Online Directories Hope this helps.

Re: Which would you start: a Blog or Online Community? - It is a difficult decision to make. Lets start it this way - What are you more interested in? Money? or Friends? or Both? If its purely Money, then Blog might be an appropriate answer. But consider this - It will be people (visitors) that will bring traffic to your blog and then Money will follow. This will be possible after a time and during this time it will be your friends who will be the starters. If you are looking for friends only, then its true that not many will be interested in knowing how you have beaten them in the game or the other way round. So it will be preferable to have a Forum where they can share ideas with you and others. But you can share your insider knowledge with them and invite comments from your Blog. You can also put up information on what others (including your friends) don't know about Tennis. The blog you create can provide News, Inside Information and also Techniques that can be used by the new entrants in the world of Tennis.
