Tackle Business Stress by Using the Magic To Do List

So you need to write a blog post, call 100 leads, walk the dog, get ready for that seminar, finish your eBook, meet a friend for lunch, go to the doctor, work out every day and follow up with your team all in the same week. If this sounds a little bit like your life then continue reading to figure out how you can find more free time and reduce that stress! If you are running a business you are most likely stressed out at the amount of work that you need to get done. You are probably being bombarded with emails and phone calls about your business and other related questions. Your business might be taking up all of your thoughts and your free time has been squashed.

Being stressed out is good and bad. Stress is only good when it's coupled up with productivity. If you are the type of person who does not work well when stressed out then take a break! Bad stress will lead to bad quality work.

Your business should not be eating you up or wearing you down! If you're working from 7 to 7 every day and not seeing results then something needs to change. That amount of work over time will wreck you and you will quit. Those that love what they do and can work 12 hours a day are those who succeed. If you are struggling to still figure out what methods work best then don't be shy to take some breaks. It can be very overwhelming at times. Creating a to do list will make your life much easier. Once you have a list you will see everything come together and you will even find some time to relax.

My wedding is coming up in June and I could not sleep one night because I was thinking of all the tasks I needed to do in 100 days. I was worried I would not be able to complete them all in time and I was overdue on some things already.

The next morning I decided to write a list of all the tasks and when they were due. Looking over the list I was completely confused why I was stressed out in the first place. Nothing was overdue, everything that had to be done was already completed and I was ahead of the game. The stress was released because I wrote a list and once I saw all the tasks together, it was obvious that I had way less to do than I thought and way more time to do it.

If you are feeling like you have too much to do you probably need to take some time and write a list of your own:

Write down all of the tasks that need to be done

Write down when you will have time to complete them

Tackle your list one by one and make a plan to get it done

It will not seem like so much work anymore once you have created a plan. You will find that you do in fact have lots of time to get your list complete. Save yourself stress and sleepless nights and make a list!

Lesson learned for me. We're back to the drawing board with the list owner more involved in the development of the letter and emails. I worked in sales for years and found that days when I was positive, relaxed where days that it was easy to sell. On days that I was stressed I found I would not reach target. Stress is good at times, but it very easily becomes problematic. I do a lot of very physical exercise and work now, to manage it.
