How To Make Money From A Blog Article
Many people are excellent writers and have quality blogs to prove it. However they are not very good at marketing and do not do a good job making money from their blog.
Here are 4 ideas on how you could make money from a blog article.
1. Add text ads to the content. These are easy to hyperlink back to affiliate products.
You just pick a keyword phrase inside the text of the blog post and hyperlink to your affiliate sales page. You can do this with two or three keyword phrases in every article.
2. Add affiliate banners to the top and bottom of each post. This is prime real estate for the article itself and people will see those banners.
It's a good way to liven your blog up as well as create potential traffic to your affiliate sales pages.
3. Insert hyperlinked graphics. This is an area many people overlook.
You can actually link the pictures in your blog articles to products that you sell. Many people will click on a picture and when you have that open up in a new screen to a new sales page, you have the potential to make money selling a product.
4. Sell solo ads. If your blog has good traffic people are willing to write content articles or even solo advertising for your blog. You can charge a set fee and sell as many solo ads you want a monthly basis.
These are a few ideas on how to make money from a blog article. If you are creative even I'm sure you can come up with more of your own.

Re: Which would you start: a Blog or Online Community?
- It is a difficult decision to make.
Lets start it this way - What are you more interested in? Money? or Friends? or Both?
If its purely Money, then Blog might be an appropriate answer. But consider this - It will be people (visitors) that will bring traffic to your blog and then Money will follow. This will be possible after a time and during this time it will be your friends who will be the starters.
If you are looking for friends only, then its true that not many will be interested in knowing how you have beaten them in the game or the other way round. So it will be preferable to have a Forum where they can share ideas with you and others.
But you can share your insider knowledge with them and invite comments from your Blog. You can also put up information on what others (including your friends) don't know about Tennis. The blog you create can provide News, Inside Information and also Techniques that can be used by the new entrants in the world of Tennis.
Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy
- I wanted to share more on the topic of Blogging and creating your own original content that you enjoy writing about.
Here's a real example.
My wife started her own little Web site a few years ago. It's a very simple, home made Web site she built all on her own. She had sort of a hobby of going into Dollar stores, purchasing a few inexpensive items for a buck or two. Then she would create something completely new (usually home decor) out of what she bought (often with the same value of creating something that was worth up to $15 or $20) if you bought it in other stores, but only using material she bought at a dollar store.
So on this little Web site, she starts writing about her creations and take pictures of them etc. A few years ago, someone from an AOL Money and Finance Blog (called Wallet Pop) invited her to Blog for AOL.
Today, she write for both the US AOL Blog and the Canadian AOL Blog as well as she continues with her hobby and keeping up her own Web site. The other Bloggers at AOL have nick-named her, "The Dollar Store Diva" and she often writes about budget decorating.
What amazes me is that with no SEO and just her original content, she attracts huge volumes of traffic. She has done radio shows in Toronto (and nearly went to the US to do breakfast television) and most people would be so amazed to see the traffic spike she gets from Blogging. But once again, she is just writing about the stuff she loves to write about. She is having fun with creativity and she now has a huge following of readers and subscribers.Others are decorating their homes with her ideas and their doing it with next to no budget.
If someone is creating a Web site or a Blog, the best thing you can do is try something original on your own, but make it something that you love to write about.
Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy
- Hi David,
I agree about the Blogosphere. You have a smaller group that Blog, but do so on the premise that they think they should, but have never really considered the purpose of their Blog. Then I think there are a few SEO or Internet Marketing types that see Blogging as just another link building strategy. But the largest group of Bloggers, tend to be people who enjoy writing and discussing their topics of interest.
Blogging is good for link building, but the true Blogger is a breed apart from the rest. They want to dialog, to debate, to have feedback and they are very willing to link to other worthwhile conversations that are relevant to their topic. I agree with you. These group of Bloggers obviously are passionate about their writing and together, they create huge conversation trails interactive and travel from Blog to Blog. But the evidence is clear with this group that loves what they write about. With comments enabled on a Blog and having a Blog tuned to a specific purpose you already have the evidence of original Social Media.

- Thanks for sharing this Evan, there are some very powerful quotes in there, I particularly like this one:-
You are now at a crossroads. This is your opportunity to make the most important decision you will ever make. Forget your past. Who are you now? Who have you decided you really are now? Don't think about who you have been. Who are you now? Who have you decided to become? Make this decision consciously. Make it carefully. Make it powerfully.
regards,
Mal.
