This traffic is very beneficial for you because it won\'t cost you anything and the traffic that does come to your website from the search engines is as targeted as they can be. Here is the best link building techniques you can use to vault your website up the search engine rankings. The first technique is to manually submit an article to the top article directories on the internet. Do a brief search for the top 10 to see what they are when you are ready to do your backlinking. These article directories will give you the most juice for your links and are worth much more than getting links from low PR article directories.

You can also use a piece of software or submission service to submit your articles to hundreds of lower PR article directories. Even though the directories are certainly less known than the top 10, these article directories will certainly gain rank over time and since you are picking up hundreds of links, this can be an extremely effective link building technique.

You should also submit unique articles to several web 2.0 properties. Websites like HubPages and Squidoo are valued highly in the eyes of Google, Yahoo, Bing and the like. The trick then is to also pick up backlinks to these pages once your content is approved. This will surely increase the PR on these pages and will effectively boost your website as well.

The best and most valued backlinks are links pointing to your website on pages that already have high PR. PR stands of page rank and Google ranks each page on a 0 to 10 scale. One backlink on a PR 8 page is worth a lot more than 100 links or even 1000 links on PR 0 pages.

It will take some effort to get these kinds of links but it is surely possible. All you need to do is compile a list of these web pages and then contact the owner to see if they will let you include a well written article with links back to your site on the page.

Of course these link building techniques on high PR pages are going to take a lot more work than the other techniques listed above, but the extra effort put in will be well worth the time spent.
