The Best Home Based Business establishes trust!
If you are part of a home based business, ultimately you are selling a product or service. Simply speaking, how easy or difficult the product or service is to sell will determine the success of your business. With nothing else considered, the product or service absolutely has to be:
1 - high quality
2 - in demand
However, in order to get your prospects to buy, they have to trust you! Where there is no trust, there is no opportunity. Gaining trust will depend on how well you can establish an emotional connection.
It may appear to be common knowledge that in order for someone to trust you, there needs to be a relationship. Surprisingly enough, it is area often overlooked area by many business owners. In order to establish a true relationship, there needs to be an emotional connection to your product or service. If you are promoting a business and there is no emotional attachment, it will be difficult to sell. In order to be emotionally attached, there will likely be rewards and benefits involved -for example, success may result with the ability to spend more time with family, travel or to simply create a better life. An opportunity to just make money is not enough. In order to make money, sales need to be made and in order for sales to be made, prospects need to share your feelings. These feelings ultimately determine the ease of selling your product or service. People buy with their hearts and justify with their heads.
To reinforce these ideas, let's change the angle and look at things from the other side. Prospects will fail to buy if the seller:
1 - fails to provide an emotional attraction
2 - does not make the buyer believe in them
In order for prospects to believe, you basically need to eliminate any potential skepticism. For example, there are people who may think you are too young or too old, haven't worked in the industry long enough, aren't experienced enough, etc... Eliminating skepticism can be thought of as risk reduction. Prospects need to be convinced of your credibility or the credibility of the business. This is accomplished through testimonials, case studies, inspirational thought leadership, etc... Even still, some prospects will be thinking "what if something goes wrong or doesn't work." This introduces the next level of required risk reduction where you need to offer a guarantee. This will do 2 things:
- reinforce the quality of the business
- provide needed re-assurance to ‘get them in the door'.
In conclusion, the opportunity to succeed in any business is always there. Whether it's a good opportunity or not totally depends on quality & demand. If quality and demand exist, success is possible but success is only possible if there is trust between the seller and the buyer.
