You now have your website up and running, the next step is to start driving traffic to it. Think about it like having a traditional business if your doors are not open then you will not have any business.

How do you start driving traffic?

You will start realizing right away that advertising doesn't always work out the way you expected, and you have to pay for it whether you get results or not. So my best advice would be to start with the free methods that I mention here and when you start getting some leads then you can start with other techniques.

Social Networking Sites like Facebook, Myspace, Digg and twitter are a few to start with. Setup your profile and start networking with people who have the same interests as yourself. You can add a link on your profile driving traffic to your website. Do not start out promoting your business to everyone right away that is the wrong way to start. Just be yourself and get to know others, tell them about what you like to do, your hobbies, where you vacation, just about anything. Using photos is a great way to show others about you and your family. After you build up a trust you can start asking them questions about what they do and in turn they will start asking about what you do. Make this part of your daily actions, do not take to long here, this could distract you from accomplishing other tasks. Set a time for this and move on.

Forums are a great way to promote your site, they offer you the opportunity to put your signature link, a backlink to your website. The same goes here as with the social network sites, do not promote your business if you do you will be prohibited from the site. An Internet forum, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages. You can post discussions and read and respond to posts by other forum members.

Article writing is one of the best ways to get yourself some traffic, once you have an article written it is online forever. You want to create the best content that you can in your niche topic. Now that you have your article written it is time to start submitting it to free article directories, start with EzineArticles.com. Once you have your account set up, it is time to share your article, they have all the tools to help get your article published. A few more places to place your articles - GoArticles.com, ArticleBase.com, Buzzle.com and Amazines.com. there are many more to choose from just do a Google search and you will find them. If your visitors like your content they will be back and they will tell others about it as well.

Press releases are pretty much the same as article writing but now you can write about an event or news. You can do reviews of products, how to tips, or anything of interest to your visitors.

Make a video and post them for free on YouTube, This is very powerful. Get in front of the camera and talk for a few minutes about anything of interest to your potential customers. Make a series of related videos. You can do a Google search on a photo DVD maker, you can find one fairly reasonable and they are pretty easy to follow.

Getting traffic to your site s the key to your success. Massive action gets massive results
