Malware - It's a Virus!

Have you ever heard of malware? Well I sure wish I had read an article like this before my computer was taken over from it.

Malware is a malicious software that is designed to take over your computer. One day when I turned on my computer, up popped an update, this happens to me all the time so of course I hit the button and BAM my computer was infected.

This was done without my knowledge or consent, this program illegally allowed remote access to my computer. It is called Windows 7 recovery, it is a fake warning system that automatically pops up. This program will hijack your computer, it will not allow you to get to your virus protection to check this out or to do any updates.

Windows 7 Recovery uses a windows logo to make you think that it is a real security feature. They will try to sell you a feature that will fix this malware-Windows 7 Recovery can't perform any of the functions that it tries to sell to you. Don't buy anything from them!

They will hide all your files from you, it will look like everything is gone from your computer all your documents, pictures, programs, anything you have on your computer are hidden and if you don't know how to find them, they may be gone for good. Always back up everything, just in case something like this does happen to your computer.

You can go on utube and look for a video to walk you through the process of removing this malware. But I would not suggest trying to remove this virus with out the help of a professional, since they are often bundled with other malware. These will continue to access your computer while actively hiding from you. The only way to get rid of these may be to reinstall your operating system.

If you do come across this on your computer, shut it off immediately since they will monitor all activity online, they have access to everything, all your accounts, passwords, everything. Your virus protection does not always catch these kinds of malware before they get to you, but you should always run your virus protection on a daily basis just to make sure. Downloading a free spy ware program wouldn't be a bad idea as well.

The only thing Windows 7 Recovery is actually good at is creating fake errors, so my advice to you is to become aware of any suspicious pop-ups on your computer. This is malware and will harm your computer.

Be very careful when you are on the internet, if you don't know the person sending you the e-mails, just delete them. Also be very careful on social networking sites, if you are invited to a free webinar training, make sure this person is reputable before you click has link. I could have picked this malware up from doing either of these two things. I would recommend always turning off you wireless internet when you are finished using it.

So take my advice here and don't let this happen to you.

New Norton Virus Protection features? New Norton Virus Protection features? - A couple of days ago, some of the software on my computer stopped working. I used to be able to use a PDF maker to convert word files to PDF...that no longer works. Here, I used to be able to see all the smilies on the right hand side of the page, when I'm writing a message as I am now...now all I see over there are dots in the center of a square. And when I [i:3hrut9ck]read [/i:3hrut9ck]messages, I no longer see those smiles, either. I never did anything to my computer myself, but I've got Norton Virus Protection and periodically it automatically updates itself ... and I'm wondering is some new update has screwed up my computer. Anyone have any thoughts on this???
