Map Out Your Life or Else...

Mapping out the perfect life. Stop and think about this for a minute. How many people really invest the time and effort to map out a detailed plan… and then stick to it persistently and consistently? When we have a growth challenge in front of us, how many of us fall into the trap of making excuses and arguing for our limitations instead of making unbreakable appointments with ourselves to perform the daily actions that lead to success… no matter what?

Now don’t get me wrong. We’re not machines and I’m not suggesting that we take a militaristic view of life… in fact, quite the opposite. Quality of life (and the choices that come with time freedom, financial freedom and a balance of wealth, health and wisdom) is the whole reason we made the commitment to this business in the first place. What happens to many of us, however, is a temptation to pull back a little bit when we first step out of our comfort zones into the world of the entrepreneur.

I’m here to tell you that it’s okay to forge ahead and that the rewards of consistent daily action over time are yours for the taking. The kind of self-reliance and commitment to results I was taught as a U.S. Marine have served me time and time again as an entrepreneur and even though I don’t want your daily experience to be ANYTHING like what we went through in boot camp, the leadership traits they teach can really add ROCKET FUEL to your business. Let me give you a couple of quick examples

Successful people have what I call “inverted expectations.” When confronted with a challenge, the masses who settle for mediocre lives are conditioned to look for the minimum… the least effort they have to expend without losing the reward. While they may not always get there every time, Marines invert that and want to know what the “max” is for any given test. They don’t concern themselves with "minimums" for anything that’s worth their time and attention. In fact, if you ask a Marine, they probably don't even know what the minimums are.

Like Marines, successful people are what I call “self-referential” or self-directed. People who are stuck in the wage system with a J-O-B usually look to others for direction or permission before they act. Sure, there’s a chain of command in the Marines – a strict one – but they encourage a kind of self-mastery that empowers every level of the organization to take decisive action based on the commander’s intent. They don’t use a changing environment as an excuse for failure to get results. Everyone is so clear on the objective that they’re ready take any initiative required to get there.

Are you going for the "max" every day as you work on yourself and your business? When you bump up against an obstacle like rejection or discouragement, do you have a plan in place that keeps you moving forward to your objective? Are you so clear about where you're going that you're ready to take decisive action no matter what's going on around you? It takes a minimum of 21 days of unbroken exposure to a new way of thinking or acting in order to rewire your subconscious mind and form the habits that lead to success.

On any journey you take in life, across town, across the continent or all the way from where you are now to total prosperity, the only way to get there is the NEXT STEP. Set your destination, imagine it in vivid detail, be realistic about your starting point and then commit to moving forward every day in any increment you can. No matter how you measure them, it's making and keeping appointments with yourself every day that counts the most. Habitual daily action is what it takes to move ahead on your own road map to the perfect life... success as YOU define it! Be CONSISTENT and PERSISTENT and without a doubt I WILL see you at the top.

DREAM BIG!!!

The Second Life Platform The Second Life Platform - Greetings! I'm not sure how many of you have heard of or are sensitive to Second Life and its related entities. Re: Charge what you're worth Re: Charge what you're worth - [quote="Tami Szabo":292ze3jd]People will pay you what you ask. Very few will ever up the price. You are the one who decided what you are worth. The key is that we believe our services are worth the price we are asking.[/quote:292ze3jd] Hi Tami, You're absolutely right. In "Think and Grow Rich", Jessie B. Rittenhouse says "For Life is a just employer, He gives you what you ask, But once you have set the wages, Why, you must bear the task. I worked for a menial's hire Only to learn, dismayed , That any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have willingly paid" (Napoleon Hill 35). I think the same can be said when setting prices on eBay or Craigslist, especially when people are trying to haggle you.

He spends all his life having his hopes and dreams shattered, feeling miserable, and its only at the end of his life that he can look back and realize how many friends he has, etc. But that doesn't change the fact that up until that point he was miserable![/quote:1rxsgr0t] I love the sentimentality around watching that movie with your Mom! Chtistmas is made up of all those sentimental things. "It's A Wonderful Life" is all about perspective, much in the same way that Scrooge is 'realigned' in Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" - which I listen to on CD every year (sometimes twice!) Happy Christmas Everyone! Regards Martin
