How to Build a Relationship with Your List

In keeping with the position you should have now placed yourself in online - an information provider -, it is now very important, in fact crucial to your business, that you provide regular, timely and as much useful information as you possibly can. This means probably going above and beyond the reviews contained in your, probably product specific, auto responder messages. The key is quite simple, you must ALWAYS have some form of information in front of your list, especially between the gaps in your auto responder sequences and sometimes in the middle of a current sequence.

Now, there are two ways you can do this. Firstly you can insert informational e-mails or newsletters in-between auto responder sequences. Secondly, you can use your auto responder service to broadcast on-time messages to your list whenever you want. So what type of information should you provide in these follow-ups? Well that's easy really, any type of content that you helps you to build a deeper more responsive relationship with your subscribers and exceeds their expectations in terms of quality.

For example, lets say lets say that you've created a useful video tutorial that you think would be useful to your subscribers. You can upload it and post it to your website or blog and then e-mail them to let them know it is available for viewing. The reason for doing this is partly to make sure that you are always keeping in front of your subscribers, but also to ensure you are providing real value as well, which in turn is giving YOUR list real value.

As an information provider the one thing you don't want to do, is leave your subscribers hungry, you simply MUST satisfy their hunger at all times. You've got to provide them with as much value as they can handle because it all goes towards building a feeling of goodwill between you and your list. So, try to think about where there might be gaps in the information you are already providing, what do your subscribers need? What would really be useful to them and help them? Find this out, create the content, and provide it to them FREE.

Where is the best place for this content to be?

As you are providing this content to your subscribers you want them to find it somewhere useful to YOU, so therefore the best place for this content is on your Blog, yes you will send e-mail initially, but it will contain a link to your blog post. There are lots of reasons for doing it this way, one of which is the fact that people generally don't like to read long e-mails so if your article is quite lengthy then the best place for them to read it is on your blog. Another thing, if you have set up your blog correctly you will have other revenue streams on it so you want to get your subscribers there to interact with you.

So lets assume you have just written a very long informational article for your subscribers, and you have created a PDF Report for download the process should go something like this: -

•Post Article to your blog with a link to the report

•Send out broadcast message to your list telling them to read the blog and grab the download (which is FREE remember).

The broadcast message you send out could go something like this: -

"Dear (firstname)

Do you know the best most proven way to build a relationship with your list? If you would like to know, I've just written an article for you on this very subject. I have posted it on my blog: (yourblog.com).

Make sure you read the whole article, because I also tell you how to grab a FREE gift I have also created for you. You don't want to miss it."

Now obviously the subject of the e-mail and article will vary depending on what your market/niche is, so please remember that the e-mail example above IS only an example, but hopefully you understand the process, but you can of course use the exact same words and just change the subject matter, whatever your niche.

Now your subscribers will have to take action, if for no other reason just to satisfy their curiosity, but this is a very good thing as you need to pull your subscribers out of email mode and get them clicking around and paying more attention.

Re: Great start, but no finish Re: Great start, but no finish - My advise is FOCUS on your business. Focusing is the main factor to succeed on business. If you have a great idea, then follow it only, don't look anywhere else. It is especially essential in an online business. Because there are a lot of mind blowing sales letters promising millions dolllars or overnight success, people find it difficult to concentrate on one business and they lose their energy. Concept is simple. 1- Have a good idea; 2- Build your business on it; 3- Monetize your business; 4- Promote it; 5- Build list of responsive customers; 6- Maintain You Business. Focusing and not fearing from competition (instead you can learn from competitiors) are main tips of billionaires ,BTW. Orxan

Re: Email autoresponder messages: what delivery intervals? Re: Email autoresponder messages: what delivery intervals? - Sub-lists are primarily created around the products I own. If my list A was about one topic, I will not promote anything to that list about another topic until I first have them opt-in to another list. Example of this is, let's say you were interested in internet marketing and you opted-in to a list for driving traffic (List A). I will not send information about product creation tips to that list unless I first have you opt-in for another list (List B). These two may be close enough so that might not be an issue, but what I find is most internet marketers drive all their promotions to their one and only list they own. So one day, it's about teaching mom-pop offline businesses about marketing, another day about oh let's market on Facebook, next day about, hey I found great product on promoting stuff on Mobile or cell phones, next week, let's talk about Amazon's Kindle, then Pinterest... You get what I mean. If I have to do above, it will be after subscribers decided not to buy any of my own products. Then I will send other promos to that list. But I think by minimum, it's good to create sub-lists for buyers of your own products so that you can send more advanced and higher end items exclusive to that list.
