Building your mailing list of hungry prospects can be one of the best investments you will ever make, as it is time and effort worth spending on. When you strike on a Joint Venture and have a new product or service to endorse, you can look no further than your own mailing list.

Granted, that most affiliates, as in more than 90 percent of them, are not making money from affiliate programs, but this often results from the same amount of effort focused on least effective methods.

While having your own mailing list is, by a long mile, not the only effective affiliate marketing method, you can make affiliate sales very quickly even in the next few hours after sending a sales message, provided that your mailing list is huge and responsive.

This is often true, because owning your own mailing list for you to endorse products and services to is one of the fastest-producing results, beating other affiliate marketing methods imaginable.

In a nutshell, the affiliate marketer who gets ahead of the pack is the one who owns a huge and responsive mailing list of prospects.

Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion - Carol, Mary and David - thanks for your great input and insight on Affiliate Marketing! This is the kind of discussion I was hoping for in this thread. There are pros and cons to Affiliate Marketing, just as there are to any business. As has been suggested, he best policy is to proceed with caution and do some research before jumping in. As Carol has recommended, this topic thread in the EvanCarmichael.com forum is the ideal place to ask questions and seek further input on available Affiliate Marketing programs. If a person is serious about building an online business and is interested in Affiliate Marketing plans, they should approach the process as they would any other form of business. Research, ask questions, compare opportunities, participate in forums on online business and Affiliate Marketing. GT :-]
Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion - You made some very good points here Jeff and I agree with you, Affiliate Marketing should not be something that you concentrate all your efforts into. As i said earlier I have learned a lot with Affiliate Marketing and continue to do so, and it has helped me tremendously to understand what I am going to have to do in my chosen niche(s). I am also being coached by the same group of mentors as GT and we are all moving forward daily to achieve our ultimate goals. Take care, Carol
Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion - Hi GT Affiliate Marketing is one of the easier ways to get started making money online, but it does take quite a bit of work before you see any great results as you have to keep promoting constantly. It does teach you one hell of a lot about all aspects of Internet Marketing though as you will need to learn how to write and submit articles, create and maintain a blog, social networking is a great help to affiliates too..the list goes on and on. In fact from what you learn from Affiliate Marketing you can apply to any niche and be sure to succeed, take care, Carol
Re: Eng Lit Academic Site Up For Review - Hi Dave, - The font for the text on the left, the welcome message, is too small. - The copy can be a bit stronger, esp. if i'm going to be purchasing Eng Lit essay. - Mailing list subscription module doesn't really say what's in it for the subscriber. What am I subscribing to? What's the value? - Ad placement of the Amazon widget is questionable. Why the repeat and why the vertical misalignment? - Too much padding on both sides too little room in the middle for crucial information. - Essays on the navigation bar should probably be second from the left. Just my humble opinion. I think the information organization and presentation can be done a bit better.
Re: Email autoresponder messages: what delivery intervals? - Sub-lists are primarily created around the products I own. If my list A was about one topic, I will not promote anything to that list about another topic until I first have them opt-in to another list. Example of this is, let's say you were interested in internet marketing and you opted-in to a list for driving traffic (List A). I will not send information about product creation tips to that list unless I first have you opt-in for another list (List B). These two may be close enough so that might not be an issue, but what I find is most internet marketers drive all their promotions to their one and only list they own. So one day, it's about teaching mom-pop offline businesses about marketing, another day about oh let's market on Facebook, next day about, hey I found great product on promoting stuff on Mobile or cell phones, next week, let's talk about Amazon's Kindle, then Pinterest... You get what I mean. If I have to do above, it will be after subscribers decided not to buy any of my own products. Then I will send other promos to that list. But I think by minimum, it's good to create sub-lists for buyers of your own products so that you can send more advanced and higher end items exclusive to that list.
