Why do you think Walmart, JCPenney, General Electric, General Motors or Chevron are so successful in their operation? They all treat their business like a business. But many online marketers want to treat their business like a hobby and then expect to get a business check. It just don't work like that.
If you are a network marketer on the internet, there are certain activities that you must practice and master if you are going to see the results that the online gurus, and the off line mega companies are creating.
Building your list: Building a list is the uttermost important activity you can ever engage in as an online business owner. You will often here the statement that the money is in the list, but that is only half true, and half truth is equal to a lie. You can have a large list and still making little or no money. So there is more to it than having a list of subscribers.
There are many ways to build a list, In fact you can build a list by using anything that you do as a medium of getting subscribers. The basic things you need are an optin page with an autoresponder to capture the prospects information. You must give the prospects good reasons why they should give you their personal information. One good way of getting their personal data is to offer them a valuable free gift relevant to their interest.
Building relationships: As I said, having a list is only half of the story. After building that list, you then set out to build a good relationship with them. The problem with many marketers is that they treat their list as a cash machine using every strategy to squeeze every penny out of their belly. If you treat your list with respect, you can get almost everything you want from them.
The first and only thing is to see your list as made up with people just like you. Put yourself in their position and ask yourself if you would be comfortable being treated a certain way. Do unto them the same things you would like to be done unto you.
The way your subscribers respond however, will depend on a number of factors: How did they get unto your list, were they double optins, how qualified are they to your target market, have they bought something online before? These are some relevant questions that will determine how responsive your list will be.
Market yourself, your product, your service: It does not matter how wonderfully great your product or service is, if people do not know about it, then it virtually does not exist. You have to advertise yourself and your business. Yourself comes first because when people know you then they will trust you to buy from you and develop a relationship.
Just imagine those giant out there, they dominate the advertising world. Even though from their level of success, it would appear like they can do well without any more promotion. There are three lessons to learn from these big guys, for us the little giants just coming up. These lessons are one, ADVERTISE, two, ADVERTISE and three, ADVERTISE. There are no two ways around this activity except for the two methods that you can use to advertise.
There are only two ways to advertise and promote yourself, your product and service, and these are time and money, and if you ask me, I would recommend using both. Time is really free promotion, and you will have to be patient because it takes time to generate good results. Paid advertising is quick and can be laser targeted. Online marketers who are just starting out have a challenge with money or the lack of it. It means therefore that you have to start small and gradually grow and increase your network marketing business.
