Calculating the Value of Customized Training

Most companies offer customizable packages that will help adapt the training a company receives. The packages are often more costly than conventional packages, but having detailed training can be important when it comes to running a flourishing business. Training employees with the right skills and providing the right information can help grant significant profit, so customizing training may be a winning option.

Calculating the Costs

The first thing any employer needs to do when it comes to training is calculate the costs. This includes contrasting the costs with any potential benefits and seeing how the two figures size up. Companies with training facilities and capabilities on site will likely be able to save considerable costs, especially when it comes to a customized training plan. On the other hand, companies that will need to send their workers to another site for training may face higher costs.

There are numerous cost variables that can be associated with a customized training program, but the same goes for the benefits. A company may experience high employee turnover before a training program's implementation, but the education and skills learned may curb the turnover and create long-lasting relationships between employee and employer.

Calculating the Time Factor

Training takes up valuable time, which in turn impacts cost. Calculating the time of hiring a customized training company to work with employees can be complex. There are a number of variables associated, such as transport, classroom hours, homework, and other associated factors. If a company lacks directorial skills and a facility of their own, the time costs will be considerably higher than a company with more organization and home facilities.

Calculating the Value

Finally, one must determine the final value of the training program for the employees. Should a business take place in a high-turnover industry, the value of a customized training program may be notably lower than that of the same program in an industry with enduring employee relationships. On the other hand, the use of the training program may help employees feel more equipped to handle the rigours of the job.

The value can be the most difficult variable to gauge, as much of the calculation is based around conjecture. Learning about employee behaviour and morale can help provide some hints, but the overall determination of the value estimate is often left up to deduction. Regardless, a good estimate can help the employer establish whether a customized training program will be gainful or not.

Budget. Budget. - I believe the biggest barrier is related to budget. Training tends to be a normal practice for a big company. But I have to consider it seriously as an entrepreneur.
Re: Starting customized giftware... Re: Starting customized giftware... - Starting off with a Customized Gift is definitely a great idea. But you have not mentioned anything about what is or are the products that your organization is into. You have also not mentioned what is the target market or who your customers are. But it needs to be mentioned that whom you want to give the gift. There are two different categories of people who visit you. One category is those who are not much interested to buy. They visit the store for inquisitiveness or finding out what you have to offer them. These people can be given some smaller tokens. The other category is of those who buy from you are your real customers and you can give them gifts. The best gift after the sales will definitely be the after sales support and customer services. But these are in the longer run to retain the customers. You can start off with giving some percentage extra depending on what you have to offer. How about Discounts or different Gifts in lieu of purchase of X Amount, Y Amount...
Marketing vs Web Optimizers vs Usability Marketing vs Web Optimizers vs Usability - Hi BigJim22, I must be honest - I haven't really read a lot of Seth's articles on web site strategies. What I have found though is that there always seems to be a three way conflict between marketing ideas, SEO strategies and usability issues when doing web development. The secret is to balance between the ideal situation for each of these. Since a website needs to be found, visited and acted upon we need a strong combination of marketing, SEO and usability to be successful. It's something we struggle with constantly at Last Minute Training and I'm sad to say - we still haven't found the right combination.
Re: Looking for partners to start career consulting business Re: Looking for partners to start career consulting business - Hi Mike, 1) I'm moving this to the Looking For section 2) I think a good start would be to seek out local, potential competing or related organizations/companies in your area. Universities, job centres, head hunters, HR professionals...etc. [quote:34k2gxrf]It will target professionals who want to start working at executives or higher level positions but lack necessary experience.[/quote:34k2gxrf] And I think it'll definitely help if you align your products/services with your target customer group. i.e. How do you plan to seek out this group? -------> Find the necessary talent that can accomplish this. i.e. Providing internship --------> Training in-house? Or training outsourced? Again, seek talent that aligns with your objectives. Break down what your business operations would be like, then seek the appropriate talent to cover that area. Of course, you don't want to give up too much equity by seeking out too many partners. Usually lower number of founders the more likely the start-up will survive. Good luck
